Dr Hanafy at John Flynn
Tamara C. replied:
Justin Nasser is wonderful but no longer in private practice, so if you're really wanting a private OB my next choice would be one of the obstetricians at Grace private. I guess I would personally choose this option because they practice at Gold Coast private hospital which is reassuring to be right next to a tertiary hospital in the unlikely chance that you or bub needed tertiary level care. Also if you birth at GC private you get home visits from a midwife after bub is born, which is not a level of care afforded by other private hospitals.

Dr Andrew Cary at Pindara. Simple
Alexis P. replied:
Dr Timothy O'Dowd has knowledge and expertise that make him the go-to obstetrician on the Gold Coast. He is also one of the most compassionate and understanding doctors I have ever met - and a fierce advocate for his patients. He is at Pindara Specialist Centre and works out of Pindara Private Hospital. In the world of Obstetrics he has developed peer relationships that mean he is surrounded by the coast's best too (Anaethetists and Paedetricians). If it could happen - he has dealt with it (probably many times) and quite frankly, if you are concerned about this pregnancy and want the experience and wealth of knowledge combined with an excellent bedside manner, then consult with him - you will be relieved you did. Very best wishes on your decision - may you and your baby enjoy good health and a special birth.

Usually takes a long time to get into paed allergists. You can start with the GP, but I always found they have little knowledge or interest in food intolerance/allergies. Paeds unless they have a specific interest, also often have low interest in the topic. Cows Milk Protein Allergy is generally characterised by rash, wheeze, runny nose and other respiratory symptoms....can have anaphylaxis. Lactose Intolerance is characterised by frothy green poos, often loose, general abdo upset. They are completely different conditions, but both require removal of or trial of removal of the offending foods. They can both cause significant nutritional and health problems if untreated. Try and see a child health nurse or pharmacy baby nurse....they are generally most up to date, as they accept the most education from the companies who research both conditions.

Wendy S. replied:
I had this bad a few years ago and went to a place called the Foot Clinic, they were based in Syndey but came to Brisbane once a month for treatments, they were great, fitted me with 1/2 length orthotics that I could wear in most shoes plus did the ice packs etc and within 2 months all fixed. Not sure if they are still around but can't recommend them enough.

You might have heel spurs causing the problem. You need an X-ray to check it out. But I had a course of 3 cortisone injections (painful as hell) that fixed mine. They were done by an orthopaedic surgeon who is right near the old Alamanda hospital. Sorry I can't remember his name. It was about 7 years ago.
Carolyn M. replied:
Go see Dr Paul Ohmsen at Benowa. He has a great team of podiatry and physio's to help you. I couldn't recommend them enough. Do your exercises, wear your orthotics and hopefully like me you'll have great results. Dr Ohmsen is highly qualified, google him.

I also had this and found that I was suffering a gluten intolerance - got rid of sugar, gluten and inflammatory foods like that and milk etc... I've therefore had the pain in feet and wrists go away, lost weight naturally, able to cope and frustration has dropped as not in constant pain. And healed Leaky Gut. Please look up Dr Axe he was the one that helped me understand what the body does in relation to inflammation.. he is amazing

Tamika is a lactation consultant specialising in ties. Very few Drs are trained in ties but Tamika is a nurse and midwife who is (saw her and Dr Dan at Heal Dental at Burleigh) for my baby's tongue and lip ties. They can tell you if any ties (including buccal) are present, likely to be causing issues and whether they should be lasered. The fb page mentioned above is also a great help with lots of knowledgeable people on there.
