I second using Heather Travis with Globe Getaways! She is absolutely fantastic! Once you use a travel agent you won't ever want to plan a trip any other way.

Have you checked out DenverDailyDeals.com? They have discounted certificates for things like a 1 hour horseback ride followed by a continental breakfast in Estes Park. Also, if you buy 10 gallons of gas at a shell station, they will give you a discount ticket (one time use) for all kinds of fun things you can do here in CO like zip lining, white water ranting, etc.

Having worked in hotel management I can tell you yes, you may pay more. Hotels will give your agent a rate that includes a commission back to the agent. Otherwise, you may find a cheaper rate on your own. Of course if you don't want to do the leg work, an agent should be a huge time saver. I had a bad experience with USAA Travel, but somewhere like them or AAA that only serve members should be a good bet.
