If you need a Wake County behavioral health provider who accepts medicaid check out http://www.alliancebhc.org/ . Under the Consumer/families tab, you'll find a directory of providers who accept Medicaid. For both child and adult, mental health, substance abuse and I/DD services.

Anne H. replied:
Please research before you use fast brain with Dr. Poole. Ask to see what level he is billing for in the EOB. Make sure if he takes a kid into his office that the door is left open-(an examining room) per a judgement order from the medical board.
Julie S. replied:
Hey! I am the owner of Bowman Family Services. I would love to be able to help you guys out, but we do not accept medicaid. I'm Sorry:( We specialize in working with children and work with helping kids with ADHD alot.

Carolina Partners in Mental Health. My friend works with them and apparently they're not bad.

I highly suggest either Eli Ogburn or Meredith Hancock who both work at the same place at [1005 Broad st](http://www.1005 wellnesscenter.com/) in Durham. They are both LGBTQ-identified folks themselves, treat all manner of queer and/or trans people, and definitely have experience working with anxious clients.

While this is not specific, here's what I find on Duke's site: >To learn more about Duke’s mental health services for adults, or to schedule an appointment or get a referral, call 919-684-0100 or 888-ASK-DUKE (888-275-3853) toll-free. I believe you'll reach a human being you can ask for psychologists who specialize in specific areas, kinds of therapy, etc.

We've used Lapage Associates in the past, but it was more family focused. We did a bunch of research before settling on them, and they were highly recommended.

Try Carolina Outreach. Call and make an appointment for an assessment. I worked for them and also a lICensed therapist....they're a good company.

If Mary Grigsby still practices in Durham, she's my reccomendation.

Melissa Maxwell. Out of town for the next two weeks. She is very adaptable to your needs. For instance, she somehow picked up on the fact that I prefer concrete suggestions and coping skills as opposed to the touchy feely stuff.

Andrea Shapiro, near Six Forks and Millbrook. My wife has been seeing her for several years and loves her. Her eating problems were fairly mild by the time I met her and are basically gone now, but apparently she was in a pretty bad place when she first started going. She credits her for a lot of the progress she's made.

No advice to give, but good on you for seeking assistance.

Hey OP. With all sincerity, you’re amazing for reaching out and getting help. My sister has dealt with bulimia for the last 15 years. Last year she had a Mallory Weiss tear that had her in and out of the hospital for months. I highly recommend Dr. Metz at Mosaic comprehensive care. She’s a GP, but she has a strong background in, and specializes in eating disorders. Please consider starting your journey to recover with her. She’s connected to all kinds of highly recommend counselors, rehabilitation centers, and supportive networks. She can help get you on a comprehensive road to recovery. All the best. If you’re ever feeling down and need to talk DM me anytime. You can do this OP.
