I am developing a specialty in working with senior clients and love it. I learned tons at this weekend workshop: http://www.daybreak-massage.com/ Most Valuable: Protocols and techniques for working with people who live with age-related conditions and hands-on experience with volunteer clients at the end. I'm taking part 2 in September. Caveat: Some of the general benefits of massage espoused in this course won't hold up to evidence-based examination. However, I found the course worthwhile for considerations specific to the aged.
Sheryl R. replied:
If you also teach yoga (which I do), I found this course evidence-based with strong research components and informative for doing bodywork with seniors: http://www.dukeintegrativemedicine.org/professional-training/therapeutic-yoga-for-seniors

One of my graduates completed the Compassionate Touch trainings and she loves it. I have worked with elderly clients over the years, and enjoy it. I will add get to know skin conditions and how skin changes over time. Learn how to safely help a client get off the table or out of chair/wheelchair. Susan Salvo has online CEU course that would be a great starting point.
