I third Blades McKnight, she has taken fabulous care of my horses for many years. When I lived in Raleigh, Jim Meyer did a great job as well - we are fortunate to have some great vets and chiropractors in this area.

Arnica for the trauma. Ledum might help with the swelling. Ruta Grav will help if there is a sprain. Rescue remedy wouldn't hurt. Apis might also help with the swelling. Those are the remedies that come to mind. Susan Delaney, a naturapath in Carroboro, practices homeopathy and might be helpful.
