Dr. Block at Town and Country Vet in Vernon. She helped us with our 1 st dog when Bolton Vet misdiagnosed her for almost a year. Dr. Block was voted Vet of the Year this year. So patient and works hard to get to the root of the issue in the most affordable way.

James, I'm trying to read all the comments here but everyone is out here to help. We have a rescue Rotti, he'd been scratching his ear n I didn't think anything about it until he started crying. Immediately I called Freshwater Vets and he had an ear infection. Good thing was he swabbed it and diagnosed it. Sent me home with antibiotic drops than massage the ear and a flush after 2 weeks to use twice a week to every other week. We've had no more problems. Please, call them I think you're going to be happy.

Honestly, start off at Tufts in N. Grafton and get him stabilized and on the way to healing. 3 yrs is an awfully long time to be going thru this. After he is on track and getting better, choose a local animal hospital for your routine wellness visits. New England Vet. cancer Center told me to put my dog down and she most likely had cancer. Well, thanks to Tufts, she alive and doing well 2 yrs later! No cancer and no masses. Glad we didn't listen to the Dr at NEVCC. BTW, he even said he'd bring his dog to Tufts if it were him ( better equipment etc.) so that says a lot.

After spending thousands of dollars in allergy tests and bloodwork and changing food and medications we finally took her to Tufts veterinary in North Grafton mass. Bolton vet is the very best in my opinion. They are quick efficient kind friendly and loving. They are more about the animals care then the money. Helped me out when my roommates dog nearly killed the older dog we had. She was bleeding out from the neck, couldn't hold her bowels, and we thought she was a goner for sure. Had barely any gas in the truck but grace be to god we were able to fly to bolton and they saved her life. It was after hours, like after midnight, they were ready for us at the door and helped her immediately. Not one question asked.

I highly recommend Dr Bell at Freshwater Veterinary on Hazard Ave in Enfield. One of my gals got rushed to the ER the end of June where preliminary results appeared as a death sentence. With careful care and the proper medication she survived with only minor kidney damage. He involved an internist to make sure everything was correct. My little Abbie went from me force feeding her water every hour from a dropper back to her crazy energetic self. Dr Bell kept in close contact with me through all of it and if I forgot to call and check in he called me.

My last standard poodle had HORRIBLE ear infections that did not respond well to medication. This recipe was shared with me and it did work..might be worth a try, it can't hurt. Blue Power Ear Treatment: ( aka blue lightening ear treatment) 16 oz. Isopropyl Alcohol (or 16 oz. Witch Hazel if ears are very inflamed or sore.) 4 Tablespoons Boric Acid Powder 16 Drops Gentian Violet Solution 1% Mix together in alcohol bottle and shake well. If they do decide to try it, apply to the ears OUTDOORS, just because when the dog shakes its head the gentian violet can stain...but it very much helped my dog and I wished I had heard about it earlier. I used the witch hazel and not the alcohol as I knew her ears were very inflamed.

I recommend Dr. Bell from Freshwater Vet in Enfield. My dog was getting constant ear infections and it was allergies. Either Enfield Animal Hospital or Freshwater Vet, both in town. We have one of our standard poodles going to Enfield, another to Suffield Vet. Both provide great care, but Suffield tends to cost more. We have our puppy going there because they do a lot of work with breeding and reproduction, and we'll rely on their services if and when we breed her. Can't go wrong with any of the above, but if cost is a factor, I'd stick with one of the Enfield vets.

Wish we could all rise up and demand better from these vets who have free range to do and charge whatever they want. My cat was in major, MAJOR DISTRESS, & I brought him in on an emergency basis, and Enfield Animal Hospital made us wait through routine appts. I was a livid when I realized the appts were just routine, but I was so distraught to get my Braveheart help out of his misery after a long life, that I couldn't handle doing anything but getting him the care, the end to his suffering. And when we got into the room, the Vet says, "His organs are shutting down!!" Ya Think?????!!!!!!! I was soooooooooooo disgusted with them. They need to be able to triage when more serious cases come through the door. I'd gladly give up a routine appt, or wait as it was the late afternoon, not mid working day hours for those taking time off of work, to allow an animal in distress to go ahead of us!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll never not put up a roaring rucus to get one that much in distress seen faster ever again.

Can I just ask you a question.. Does the inside of his ears smell like cheetos? If so that's a yeast infection and as a vet tech my personal choice would be Enfield Animal Hospital Hands Down!! Just tell them how much money you have when get im the room and they will work with... They are great veterinarians it's not too expensive there..please do NOT go to boston road animal hospital or bolton for an ear infection they will charge you twice the amount of a smaller veterinarian

Try Second Chance on Belmont Ave in Springfield. https://www.facebook.com/secondchanceanimals/

There are vets that accept CareCredit such as Bolton Vet. I think you get 0% financing for 6 months (I think) but don't quote me on that. I'm not sure if he would qualify but couldn't hurt to look into it.
