Agawam Animal Hospital. I take my dogs there, they have weekend and evening hours. WS animal Hospital is good too but limited hours, no weekends and but pricier.

I 2 nd the stay away from any VCA. I go to the Sanctuary Animal Clinic in Holyoke and am so pleased I made the switch. I want a dachshund - hi Molly!
Dolly P. replied:
Dr Swenson at west springfield animal hospital
Cyndi M. replied:
VCA's are not horrible. There are some great vets who belong. They do cost more. SoHadley VCA is one of the best exotic vets around if you have guinea pigs, hedgehogs, sugar gliders for example
Fran L. replied:
West Springfield Animal Hospital, Dr Swenson very good with small animals.
Susie P. replied:
Hands down, Dr. Larochelle - Westfield Animal Clinic. She saved my dog's life and was unbelievably reasonable $$$ wise. She is so caring, and listens and doesn't push things on you. I am now dogless but if and when we get another, we would not go anywhere but to Dr. LArochelle. And I agree - no VCA vets.

west springfield animal hospital, Doc Swenson is the best!

I have gotten great and affordable care with Dr. Henderson at holyoke animal hospital... her own private practice, I can vet all three of my dogs for a year for less than most of my friends spend on one
Ashley R. replied:
Stay clear of Holyoke Animal Hospital. Dr Henderson is good for yearly check ups, but wen it comes to diagnosing an animal for a disease she is not the vet to see. Spent lots of money with her only for her to say I don’t know and then referring me to Tufts.
Susie P. replied:
U30 has a good reputation. I still vote for Westfield Animal Clinic - better hours than some of the others and very easy to get to. I did go to a couple of the ones mentioned in the past but will never go back to them.
Can anyone recommend a good vet in the area for my new puppy?
Jackie R. replied:
I like Animal Sanctuary Clinic in Holyoke.

Valley Veterinary Hospital, Hadley. A bit of a ride, but worth it. I've been a Shepherd owner for over 20 years. Don't gamble around with vet care. Valley is very well staffed. Very low stress atmosphere. They spend 30 to 45 minutes with you for a visit with no care if they need to spend more time with you to educate etc... Other places you go to it's like you're being timed. They have wellness plans you can invest, equivalent to insurance. I did it the first time this season and I am super thankful I did. What I've used in their services so far surpasses what I've paid into the plan, so I'm in the green. The plan expires in the fall of 2018, so I've got a ways to go. My vet I use there, Dr Spiegel, coached me what plan would best fit my needs. Unlike other vets, they have broad service capabilities vs having to refer you to someone else for anything beyond the run-of-the-mill services. Friend of mine Husky had to have an ACL operation, which is a VERY delicate procedure. Operation was done at Valley by a highly recommended surgeon and the Husky is back on the trails hiking. I know of dogs w/operation done elsewhere and they're walking, but not hiking. To me it's kinda like one-stop shopping. General care. Special care. People travel from out of state to go to Valley. That's how good they are! Several police departments also use them for police dog care. Video at the bottom of their website and an offer for new clients with puppy 6 months of age or younger. Spring thru Fall if a day appointment we stop on the way home at the Northampton Norwottuck rail trail for long walk. http://valleyvethospital.com

Suffield veterinary hospital is great! Just down the road from West Springfield. They are great and very caring with all animals.
So Ryan Bengle and I just found a lump on the right side of my dogs rib cage, it's hard, can move and seems to be sore for him. We want to bring him to a vet to get...

Holyoke Animal Hospital, right by the log cabin. If he is part lab. I know of three older labs, that have a golf ball size lump on there side.
Don G. replied:
There all in good health. Holyoke Animal Hospital is Awesome. They treat your pet like it's there's. And they don't rape your wallet.

Most vet places take Care Credit. It's a credit card designated for health/vet purposes. I know VCA Boston Road Animal Hospital takes it and would see you but they are very pricey! I used to work there. I'm pretty sure WS Animal hospital takes it too. We bring our lab to them now. You can apply for Care Credit online to start the process.
