Irritated.. I found out today our vet doesn't give us the option to not biopsy the cyst on Hero's eye lid. I got mad and cancelled the surgery and am looking else where....

Fowlerville Vet...they are wondeful there...it is a bit of drive for you, but they are less expensive than most if not all of the other livingston county vets...they removed a cyst off of my dog's eye and said it was up to me to biopsy it, but wasn't really necessary since it looked like it was benign...the totally surgery was around 150 or 200, but that was because Demon is over 100 lbs and it costs a lot for anesthesia for him...you should check them out, you won't be disappointed...phone number is 517 223 8812..

My vet isn't close to you, but he is truly extraordinary and three generations of my family have taken our pets there. (Not that he's old, my grandparents are old!) I could literally write a book on all the amazing things he has done, but I'll spare you unless you are super interested. His rates are very reasonable, and while it's posted that all services need to be paid for when they are done, he's always been very cool about breaking up payments for us when part of our brood needed something major. Dr. Dine - Dine Veterinary Hospital in St. Clair Shores. (586) 771-3131 This man has opened the place up on Sundays for us. He's dug out textbooks to show me diagrams (I'm a knowledge junkie and need to understand stuff and he's so accommodating.) He just recently went above and beyond with my mom's golden....anyway, I said I would shut up. LOL Bottom line, SUPER compassionate, but also very practical and he won't bullshit you or charge you for stuff that's not going to actually help.

I highly recommend Country Side in Hamburg. Both of our pups have had surgery there and they were well taken care of and the staff and docs are wonderful! My parents also use them and we've all been happy. Good luck with your pup!
Karisa H. replied:
What! I have taken Zeus to Pinckney vet the one with Linda siger the one by the playground at the school. It's not fancy and they took a biopsy of a cyst he had said it was nothing. We thought it was cancer. I would defiantly check other vets. The one in Pinckney saved me three THOUSAND dollars. Some vets treat the pets like people when really they are not. Would take them there for anything expensive I get quoted at my vet.

Companion is sooooo expensive! Holly vet is great! Dr. Shultz is awesome. My family has used them for 25 years!

Exactly why we stopped going to Countryside Vet in Hamburg.

Countryside vet in Hamburg 810-231-3476 We love them. They are so dedicated to personal care for our babies and have never taken financial advantage of us. Cole who is now over 13 has had numerous surgeries and procedures there. Dr. Burnett is amazing I don't care for the Howell office personally as they are very commercialized.

Seriously? I had entire double eye entropian surgery done at Wilson vets for $700
Margie S. replied:
I know Sandy Smith at Fenton Vet Clinic does a great job! I'm not sure what their policies are ...
Jen K. replied:
Margie, unfortunately Animal Health Clinic is our vet and they are the ones not allowing us the choice on the biopsy
Toby S. replied:
The clinic I used to work for, Veterinary Medical Center in Howell gives the option. I worked there so I'm biased, but they are one of the most reasonable vet clinics as far as those things go. I'd recommend Dr Bonemer. She's talented and understanding.
Cathy A. replied:
Jen, where do you go? Have you ever tried Companion Animal Hospital in Linden? We have used them for years, really like Dr. Osmun, but it's very hard to get him, you have to schedule like a week in advance.
Angie A. replied:
We go to a vet in the corner if linden and Lennon, he is amazing (810) 733-2590 we had the choice to biopsy our dogs cysts. He is very good with pricing
Cathy A. replied:
Jen, Companion is great but I do not know what their policy is either. Their number is 735-7857 if you want to call and ask them.

Fenton, MI: I am looking for some good vet references for vets in the area of Fenton, MI. Can you tell me who and why you do (or don't) recommend them? Thanks much!...
Stacy R. replied:
I go to the Animal Hospital on Miller Rd in Flint and they are awesome. It's about 15 mins up 75. They are on a walk in basis so you can just bring your babies in whenever. Also, they have some evening hours and weekend hours which is rare around here. Their number is 732-0000 and they are RIGHT off the highway. You turn left off Miller Rd exit and it's right there. I know it's not Fenton, but thought I'd let you know just in case you can't find a good one. Mid Michigan Boxer Rescue uses them as well. Good Luck!

Companion Animal Hospital in Linden. It's just west of Fenton. I worked there for 2 years and loved the people and the quality of medicine. It isn't walk in, unless dire emergency. You need an appointment. If they run behind, it's because they spend the appropriate amount of time with you and your animals. Loved working with Dr. Stewart especially.
I need your help fellow beagle owners!!!
My fur baby Racer is in some severe pain. It is believed to be radiating from his back/spine but the vet can not find ANYTHING...
