Reader question: Anyone love their pediatrician? We just delivered, and need a pediatrician ASAP-- looking for one who is 100% pro-breastfeeding, does NOT push drugs-...
Julia F. replied:
Nima Hendi at the Pediatric Center is fantastic. Has that something you can't learn from a book.
Sarah F. replied:
Dr. Baig off rt 40 she's all about the natural... Seriously she was my biggest supporter when I was having a hard time breast feeding... When my kids are sick she doesn't prescribe meds unless it's serious... I have a 1 year old & a 3 week old
Zoë M. replied:
I had a bad experience with Frederick Pediatric Associates in regards to my strong desire to breast feed. They were very quick to push formula and medicine with my daughter even though I had firmly expressed my wants to keep it natural.not to mention I felt more like a number than a patient. Needless to say I quickly switched to Dr. Alcuri's office on TJ Drive and I plan on staying with him for a very long time!
Dawn B. replied:
Dr Chaivoitz at the fred per center has been seeing my girls since birth and they are now 11 & 15 . She has been an amazing dr and I have even consulted with her with parenting issues
Rich V. replied:
I will second Dr. Baig...she has been a pedi since day one (literally) and she is almost five.
Audrey W. replied:
Steve Alcuri. Don't do the large practice stuff.
Jen H. replied:
Dr Hash & Dr Feinberg at the Pediatric are awesome!
Sharon B. replied:
We love the Ped Center as well. Dr. Hash is awesome. American Academy of Pediatrics has changed their recommendations for medication for infants and young children. The only way you can get a prescription is usually when your child has a bacterial infection...ear infection are most common in little ones. I BF all mine and it was always encouraged. Good luck!!
Courtney J. replied:
Jana Hash at the Pediatric Center--been ours for all four kids for thier entire lives!
Jonel H. replied:
Jana Hash at the Pediatric Center ROCKS! So much so, that when our son was 3, he would walk around with a clipboard or the laptop "taking notes b/c I'm like Dr. Hash!":)
Deb V. replied:
Dr. Rahman, Clarksburg Pediatrics, she has rights at Children's Hospital:) good luck in your search
Deb K. replied:
I would also recommend the Pediatric Center - specifically Nima Hendi and Eileen Ebert. My son sees Dr. Hendi and my daughter sees Dr. Ebert and we love them both!
Renata B. replied:
Susie Chaitovitz
Amanda B. replied:
Dr Joan Lee she is at the Frederick Pediatric Center
Lorrie S. replied:
My boys have seen Dr. Alcuri for 17 years. The relationship they have with him is so special. He remembers his patients and their medical history without reading their records. His diagnosis has always been on target, he is not too proud to refer you...See More
Crystal M. replied:
Dr. Gough office in Walkersville. Both doctors are wonderful! !! I love that they dont give antibiotics, only when needed! I have 4 kiddos and have been going there for 14 years!
Eileen R. replied:
Dr Cagle... Pediatric center of frederick
Sherry H. replied:
Dr. Hendi pediatric center awesome!
Lori K. replied:
Any of the pediatricians at The Ped Center.
Elizabeth I. replied:
Dr Miller in Mt Airy and stay far away from The Pediatric Center
Whitney T. replied:
I love Dr. Rothschild. Her number is 301-829-1822. Pro breastfeeding, co-sleeping, listens to you and treats each patient as a whole individual. She doesn't push a particular vaccine schedule or medications. Congratulations!
Paula S. replied:
Dr Jana Hash! Love her!
Kelly D. replied:
We love Dr. Hendi at the Pediatric center. He was my husband's pediatrician and now we take our son to him. You can tell he truly cares and treats his patients like he would his own kids.
Monica L. replied:
Here is another recommendation for Jana Hash at the Pediatric Center.
Can anyone recommend a good pediatrician in Frederick? Lacy is due for her check up and I'm not taking her to The Pediatric Center anymore.
Gena C. replied:
We love Frederick Primary Care!!!! Dr. Delgrippo and Tammy Moreland, Pediatric PA, have provided excellent care to Mackenzie and Ryan their whole life. Mark and I see Dr. Delgrippo as well. They are at 63 TJ Drive.
Sarah L. replied:
I'm at Kaiser now. I love Dr. Lovich. She takes of the kids very well. Idk any good pediatricians in Frederick. I just see scripts.
Stephanie S. replied:
I tried looking up pediatricians online but there were only like 5 options and one of them was pediatric center. The other was Dr. Alcuri and he's weird so I don't wanna go to him. He was the pediatrician on duty at the hospital when Lacy was born and he was just... Idk... Weird.... Lol. The other 3 offices had some pretty bad reviews. So I figured I'd ask the mommies on my fb about where they take their kids.
A member is in need of new a pediatrician. "I'm looking for a new pediatrician. I'd like a doctor who supports extended breastfeeding and doesn't suggest cio every time...
Lanie H. replied:
I see Dr Hundemer (301) 694-7600 se is a grandmother, vegan and wears berkenstocks to the office! Lol :-) she takes adults and children . Dr Hundemer told me breast milk is 100% enough to sustain baby with no food until a year - my mom and aunts all...See More
Kelly S. replied:
We see Michelle Shaffer at Parkview Medical. She's also a mom of young kids and is very supportive of breastfeeding.
Liz S. replied:
We use Dr Beams in Columbia. She is open to any and all of my ideas and has never pushed vaccines. None of my kids have ever had a vaccine. She does give vaccines and I would imagine she would be open to delay. She is a mom of four and very sweet.
Having a newborn in August and looking for a great pediatrician. Does anyone highly recommend any in the area?
Brian S. replied:
We take our 4 kids to see Dr. Swinton across from the high school on campus. We really like him. On another note we have an infant car seat and base, strollers, pack and play we are selling if you are interested.
Marcia S. replied:
Same Dr. Burns
Courtney B. replied:
Dr Rahman at Clarksburg Pediatrics!!
Michelle I. replied:
We use Dr Burns at the Pediatric Center and really like her. I haven't been thrilled with some of the other Drs we've seen on sick visits so I always request Dr Burns for well visits and am often able to get her for sick visits now as well. They are super convenient to Urbana and I've never had an issue getting an appt (sick or well). Their Frederick office also has Saturday hours for sick calls which is a great bonus.
Kristen H. replied:
We love Takai, Hoover, Hsu in Germantown!
Nadja S. replied:
We use Dr Alcuri on Thomas Johnson. Solo practitioner (who partners with another doctor when he is out)-knows my kids well, always takes us for sick visits asap, returns emergency calls, all around very attentive.
Susan T. replied:
I also like Dr Burns
Germaine C. replied:
The Pediatric Center I like both Dr. Burns and Dr. Crowder
Needing suggestions on a pediatrician/family doctor in Frederick, MD area that won't push the gardisal (or any other) vaccine. Go.
Terri C. replied:
I take Chloe to Dr. Beardsley in mt. Airy, and he didn't push at all when I passed on the flu shot for her.
Heather W. replied:
I love Dr. Lee at Frederick Primary Care and he's a Christian. I've said no to some and delayed others and it's never been a problem. Although, like Donna said, there always seems to be a wait for him. I have actually liked all the Drs I've seen at the practice.
Tanya B. replied:
I've seen Dr Lee for myself, he is very nice but I don't feel he is respectful of your time. He made me wait almost an hour in the waiting room and then another 45 IN the exam room, and I needed to be sent to the hospital ultimately. But he is nice.
Carissa B. replied:
We saw Dr. Ebert yesterday, and she pushed really hard for me to vaccinate J with it. I was very irritated, because she acted like I was a bad parent to put my vaccine beliefs ahead of my child's health.
Carissa B. replied:
I should add that we normally see Dr. Bromberg who has never harassed me about vaccines, and always taken my no for a no. But J wanted to see a female dr, so I made the appointment with dr. ebert. Maybe there are other female providers there who are less pushy.
Jennifer W. replied:
I've never seen her. We've been in a lot because of the girls' asthama and that vaccine has never been brought up. Let me find the names of the 2 female doctors we've seen recently. Madison really liked them. Dr. Hindi is my favorite though.
Jennifer W. replied:
Dr. Joan Lee is who Madison saw recently. She even gave me homeopathic alternatives to trreating Madison's thrush, when she had a severe allergic reaction to the medication given. The second one given wasn't working well either, that's when she gave me other alternative to try.
Victoria K. replied:
I take my children to John Hopkins here in Frederick to Dr. Convey. He is a close family friend. I brought up gardisal to him he supports it personally but respects that I don't want Olivia to have it either. Also I had a friend whose daughter had a brain seizure after having one. It's a potential side effect/risk. Not worth it.
Hello. Can anyone recommend a good pediatrician in the area? Thanks in advance.
Elizabeth F. replied:
We like Dr Joseph at The Pediatric Center on Worthington
Rachel S. replied:
Dr Lee at Frederick County Pediatrics in New Market!
Julann P. replied:
Agree, we love Dr.Lee's practice and staff. Megan the PA is AWESOME!! Also, love Dr. Byrnes, she was with the Pediatric Ctr.
Michelle I. replied:
We followed Dr Burns from the Peds Center to frederick county peds. We love her so much. I have heard nothing but great things about Dr Lee, the other Dr in the practice.
We need a good pediatrician in Frederick, any advise?
Melissa K. replied:
Tatiana- How is Andrew doing? Has his fever gone down? Have you tried going to the Ped Center? We almost always go to the one right here down the road on Ballenger Creek and we usually see Dr. Feinberg or Dr. Whitehead. I really like them both.
Julie H. replied:
Tanya, actually, Dr. Swinton, in addition to being my next-door neighbor, speaks Russian. he lived there for awhile!
Tatiana H. replied:
I've got an appt. for Andrew today with nearby doctor - we have an emergency - Andrew has 103.2 this morning, Nina had the same thing last week and I don't want to go to Rockville so many times (we were sick for 2 weeks already), I just called to Dr Swinton office, he usually just 1 day/week in Frederick, I don't know if I want to go to Urbana....
Mari E. replied:
Dr Brian Swinton at Frederick Pediatric Associates. He is absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend.
Elizabeth S. replied:
I didn't use a pediatrician but I really liked John's Hopkins Community Physicians. They are a family practice and took care of all of us. The staff there are great and I was there so much that we were like a celebrity family. Ha!
Katherine R. replied:
We use a pediatrician who left the pediatric center and opened his own practice. His name is Dr. Lee and he is in New Market. He is wonderful.
Hi everyone - I am looking for a new General Practitioner - mine retired... would like local in Frederick but don't mind driving a little. Do not want a big "factory"...
Jacque J. replied:
Frederick Primary Care. Not sure my doc at Spring Ridge is taking new patients but her name is Janet Ciarkowski. There is an integrative doc at their Urbana office name Dr. Guiliano. Good luck.
Tracy V. replied:
Dr Melissa Asuncion at Parkview Medical...Love her.
Lori T. replied:
I have heard good things about her as well - but park view so crowded I used to see Dr. Hickey there back in the day before he retired.......
