I love any Montessori school. My kids go to Fox Valley Montessori in Aurora, which may be far for you, but we have a very diverse community and the school is not for profit. There is quite a bit of family involvement which makes it feel like a family. The curriculum, like any Montessori school is very well rounded and even teaches "practical life" (washing dishes, cleaning up after themselves, etc) to teach children independence and self confidence. The kids are grouped in ages rather than "grades", so there are 3-6 year olds in one class, allowing your children to learn at their own pace and get individual attention as well as learn from other children. The environment is very peaceful and they emphasize treating everyone with respect and patience.

Two of my daughters have gone to St.Marks Preschool in St.Charles by the library and we have loved it. The classes are by age group and focus on learning and socialization. They are always open for tours and are currently registering for next year. There are 2 three year old options for classes- can't say enough good things about the preschool! Call Julie Zimmermann for a tour!
