I've heard some preschools will try to work independently with a child to progress their learning if the curriculum of the program is too easy or for them. Is there a...

I'm a certified early childhood teacher. Not sending to preschool would not be a good choice. My daughter went to St. Thomas More for preschool and kindergarten and will be attending first grade there next year. She is well above grade level and has had an amazing experience there. Einstein and DaVinci at good but very very expensive.

http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/ Been on these forums (after reading book of same name) for over a decade now. Lots of other parents there have been in your shoes, and may have good advice. Note many of them do "afterschooling", enriching their child's education after they get home from public/private school.

If you truly want an awesome preschool that is carefully planned around your child's needs and potential, look no further than Children's House Montessori School in West Dundee. My children are very different from each other, and they have thrived in that beautiful little community in ways I cannot even describe. All of the families that attend make such a wonderful school community. There's no place like it. It's a low-tech, hands-on learning environment with caring and loving teachers. Even at the preschool level, the children learn order, kindness, and respect while engaging in highly effective academics tailored to their needs. I highly encourage you to check it out. Donna Butcher is the leader of the school and she will be glad to show you around and discuss the school with you. http://chmsdundee.com/Home.aspx

If you are in U-46 boundaries, the district preschool is an affordable option. The multi-age classes and play-based curriculum (High Scope) help with that differentiation your're looking for. http://www.u-46.org/pages/SDU46/Departments_Programs/EarlyLearners/Preschool/Tuition-based_Preschool

We just put our son in Goddard in Elgin based on some great reviews (Randall & I-90) But in all fairness, its all about learning through play at this age. Which is proven to be the best thing for children long term. Studies show that Academic based preschool is only effective short term. http://www.pbs.org/parents/education/going-to-school/choosing/comparing-preschool-philosophies/

We love Funshine Treehouse at Randall Oaks Zoo. It’s reasonably priced, but not a lot of hours. They are great with the kids and the kids get a lot of interaction with the animals, which is fun. It’s Montessori style which has been really good for Enzo.
