Can anyone tell me why the Griffin OBGYN NEVER answer the phone ? I've called 6 times today and every time they have hung up on me .
Any suggestions on a different...

I left their practice during my 2 nd pregnancy. Griffin Ob was horrible. I went to Macon and loved everyone of these doctors and their midwives. https://m.facebook.com/DrsBarnesAndDursoObGyn/

I know, called for several days, then I choose one of the other options they offer on the phone, someone picked up and I asked to be transferred to the person making appointments. They say you can go online and make appointments, tried that, no one ever contacted me. If they have an office manager, lodge a complaint, I meant to when I finally got and made my appointment, but got caught up in other things and forgot! http://griffinobgyn.com/appointments.php

I see Dr. Megan Potter and she is awesome.

I would recommend Women's Health Specialists as well. My doctor is Dr. Cornelius who will be on Maternity leave come November but there are 3 other wonderful, well educated doctors there. It is an all female practice in case you'd prefer a male doctor. Extremely professional and clean offices. But the closest office is in Locust Grove, a 20 to 25 min drive. http://www.girldocs.com

Southern Crescent OBGYN. They have offices in Fayetteville, Newnan, and Jonesboro. Dr McIntosh at women's health specialist delivered my 7 year old and helped me through PPD. They are awesome as well.

Dr. Chewning is great at internal medicine. There's another obgyn there to. I believe. He's my doc but he don't deliver anymore. In the front of the hospital now. New building. Good luck.

I went through the nightmare of my life in January when at 31 weeks my son passed away. Dr. Potter of Griffin OB had been my doctor leading to that day and was on call when I went to the hospital and they confirmed he was gone. She was the most precious, empathetic doctor and hugged me and made the situation the best it could have been. She was in surgery when I delivered and Dr. Mameli delivered me. He was kind and took great care of me and kept my parents and family updated while my husband and I grieved privately. They both checked on me the following day, not just my physical scars either. I've been through the frustration of having to call multiple times, but to me, the care they provided was worth it.
Brittany H. replied:
Definitely recommend Womens Health Specialists! They have an office in Locust Grove and Eagles landing.
I need recommendations for a gynocologist in the area - doesn’t have to be Griffin proper. I’ve used Griffin OB/GYN for over 25 years but I’m done having babies...

Looking for a new gynecologist.....who do y'all suggest in Griffin?
Rachel T. replied:
Dr Tracy Greene-Johnson at New Beginnings! She is wonderful, patient, funny as she can be, and let's be real, a little humor in that type of situation is usually appreciated, lol! She has a lot of younger patients, and saw me through my miscarriage and my second pregnancy, which was high risk. the staff is AMAZING! Miss Donna in the office and Miss Carla, a nurse are both so caring! The nurse/medical asst staff is top notch, the phlebotomist is great, with a tender touch, and they are kid friendly if you have an appointment and cannot get a sitter.
Aleasha S. replied:
Sheryl Simpson-Jones is wonderful !! Not in Griffin, but not far. She's well worth it.
Mel N. replied:
Dr Potter at Griffin Ob/Gyn....She is wonderful
Cathy C. replied:
Dr. Chewning is NOT retired. He practices gynecology at the Internal Medicine of Griffin office, located at 205 Graefe Street (across the street from the hospital emergency room entrance). Phone:770.227.1587 He is no longer doing obstetrics (delivering babies), having delivered enough to fill several school buildings!
Kimberly L. replied:
Southern crescent women's center is worth the drive. I was not happy with Griffin obgyn the one time I went. Southern crescent has been very helpful while we go through a difficult situation. Very prompt in returning calls and everyone I've encountered there is kind and helpful. Dr Simpson Jones at Women's Health Specialists is amazing as well. They have offices in Eagles Landing and Locust Grove. I was sad when I couldn't go there because they stopped accepting our insurance. The staff there is amazing. They delivered my oldest two boys.
Peggy A. replied:
a word of caution, I learned the expensive way. I was a patient of Dr Greene-Johnson. Personally liked her. Did not like having a freeze procedure by a PA. Then I had to have a colposcopy--I had to go to the hospital for this procedure. I had $1000 deductible so I had to prepay $700 to her and $300 to the hospital before being admitted. I later found out that a friend who goes to a larger GYN office paid a co-pay and that is all for the same procedure. I can drive to Fayetteville a lot of times for $1000. Also, you have to pay a co-pay and make an appointment to get your test results. They are un-apologetic that this is a "billable" service. My GYN now allows me to opt for a phone call for results. Does anyone have reviews on the place called My OBGYN in McDonough?
Having to switch doctors due...
Kimberly L. replied:
Dr Youngblood delivered my youngest. I loved their NP's. Dr Royster was my favorite.
Kimberly L. replied:
I remember seeing kids in there. I always went when my kiddos were in school. The Riverdale office had less of a wait IMO. I loved delivering at Southern Regional. Despite some complications (I'm anemic) it was a better experience than when I delivered at Henry.
From my understanding that Holly Harrison is no longer in with the Griffin OBGYN anymore , does anyone know if she is still in the practice and where ? Possible a number...

I don't know .. I had all my babies in peachtree city . I choose this because i was fairly new to this area, and heard nothing but negative things about Griffins hospital. I have had a few close friends deliver there and not like it at all. I have only met one or two women with positive things to say about it. But again I have no personal experience with either .. I just chose another group and hospital .
Brandon-Cait T. replied:
Griffin ob is great! Kinda busy though, but Leigh Ann Story is AHHHMAZING she's a midwife. I had a great experience at the hospital too, despite many negative tales! I had an emergency c section, so Leigh Ann was in the room but Dr. Potter delivered. It was awesome.

Sarina F. replied:
I have heard great things on Dr Potter but I didn't have that doctor at Griffin OB/GYN and had an absolutely horrible 20 weeks there. I ended up leaving and driving to Fayetteville for the last half of my pregnancy and was much better off there. Not all docs in Griffin office are good so please be selective.
Tanya J. replied:
Dr. Dunaway at Griffin OB is awesome he has been my doctor for 15 years. Delivered both my kids. One vaginal, one Csection & he tied my tubes. And the maternity ward is awesome. Great nurses.
Cortney C. replied:
Griffin OB/GYN is awesome! I've seen dr. Potter during both of my pregnancies and she was the one who delivered them both by c-section. She was so sweet and professional! the Women's Center at Spalding Regional is amazing too!!! I've got church friends who work in the Women's Center, so that could've made it a bit better, but even so, everyone was very, very sweet and helpful!
