Hello and thanks for the add. I'm not in Elora yet but will be moving in about a week from now and because we have cats and dogs I am looking for a vet in the area,...
Jennifer V. replied:
My friend Kayte Armstrong actually is very forward thinking. She uses acupuncture as well as natural remedies along with traditional treatments (where appropriate). I find her to be a very caring vet and my pets love her. She is at the Arthur Vet Clinic. http://www.arthurveterinaryclinic.com

Elora Gorge vets.:-)
Danielle C. replied:
My dog suffers from pretty severe allergies as well and although I do take her for her shots and whatnot to Elora Gorge, when it comes to her allergies and all the ailments associated with them I trust Katherine at The Animal Den on Krug St in Kitchener.

South Tower Animal Hospital in Fergus ! My mum owns a health food store so we go for the natural choice first and the vet there is very accommodating !

Wellington Vet is amazing, the Vet's and Tech's are professional and caring. I still took my animals there when I worked for another vet.
Can anyone recommend a vet or behaviourist who can help with Separation Anxiety and won’t cost me a fortune?
Laura M. replied:
Not a vet or a vet behaviourist, but if you’re looking for a trainer who can guide you through it, Meg from https://meghandarcydogs.com is an absolute champion. Even if funds are tight, just doing an initial consult with her would be a good start. Otherwise, Dr. Low at Cabbagetown is most people’s go-to for a behaviour-savvy vet in the city. You can always start with a meds consult with her!

If you are low income (50,000 or less I think) EVAH is great. I took my older dog there when she was sick and the vet was awesome. They even called to see how she was after. Also just got my puppy fixed there and they did such an amazing job. I have seen a lot of spays and that was the best I've seen so far. It's inexpensive but no "cheaping" out.... all the staff loved my puppy and even sent her home with a toy after her surgery :D http://evah.ca/

Dr. Staples has had his license suspended many times... Have heard terrible things about him, including that he does too many procedures at the same time and isn't very clean.... You can google Warren Staples DVM or check this out... http://beforeitsnews.com/animals-pets/2013/02/summary-of-discipline-committee-hearing-to-inform-public-on-dangerous-veterinarian-practices-2445746.html
Robin M. replied:
In defence of Dr. Staples. I have heard many things about many people during my life, but like to make judgements based on my own experiences. Having taken our animal family to Dr. Staples for many years, I have continued to go back to him. Dr. Warren Staples and his vet techs (NOT the other foreign vets that work at his clinic) are very experienced, efficient and skilled (not the foreign vets that work at his clinic). He is affordable, BUT he is also VERY busy - the reason that he is busy- because he is a good surgeon and affordably priced. He is efficient, knows his stuff, and I would recommend him. I have also had the pleasure to watch him in surgery, and he is impeccable, and clean. Yes, He does many surgeries in a day, however he knows his stuff and has about a dozen vet techs that take care of the animals (most vets have a couple of techs), and so it is done in a way that saves the pet owner money. I have checked out reviews of other vets online, used them (as Dr stapes was away and I do not trust his foreign vets), and so went to Oakridge as our dog was suddenly yelping in pain. We went to Oakridge vet BECAUSE of the wonderful reviews, and left incredibly disappointed. The Vet did no tests, yet sent us home with medicine for two 'possibilities' (both which could have been tested - with a blood test, or an x-ray). However, they were VERY pleasant people and also followed up with two phone calls on two days - so that we could come back, for another exam- I asked if they'd do tests, and they said no, just examination. I have also heard that Dr. Polumbo is not a good Vet, however, when we had our old dog (of 19) euthanized due to old age, she came to our house and did a wonderful job. She died in peace eating her ice-cream. If you are looking for cushy vet service where they make you feel good about bringing your dog to the vet and follow-up go to Oakridge. If you want a vet that is affordable, don't just go by what 'someone heard from someone'...

I have been going to Dr. Staples for years and years. I like him, he has spayed and neutered dogs and cats for me without a problem and he is willing to answer questions. I would not hesitate to recommend him. People come from all over for him to doc doberman ears, I had this from a very reliable souce.

Dr. Mor, at East London Animal Hospital is great/ Spruce Street, behind the Taco Bell on Dundas Street

I love Westmount Neighborhood Vet Clinic. Dr. Alec is so friendly and thorough. I don't feel rushed at all, or feel like my questions are silly.
LeeAnn M. replied:
Try Westmount Neighborhood Clinic on Wonderland road by Westmount mall. They have their own pet insurance reasonable to the more expensive one only if you wanted your choice pretty neat. Their practice is unique by style makes you feel welcome and they are friendly. Just different
I need the number for a vet who does house calls or be directed to where I can get that information please and Thankyou
