I have been going to [Dr. Michael Herrmann](https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/michael-f-herrmann-indianapolis-in/84054) for over a year now. He works with people battling PTSD, but he has done wonders for my anxiety and depression. He’s partially retired; he takes every other week off, but the every other week schedule worked for me. He also specializes in biofeedback, which is unique but helps you understand your body and brain and how they relate to each other.

I drive to Clinton for my trauma therapist. She is hands down the best practitioner I have ever been to and my CPTSD has improved so much that I no longer qualify for disability. If you’re willing to drive THAT far, shoot me a PM and I’ll give you details.

This is who I go to for my PTSD, http://www.lauragriffis.com/. She is absolutely wonderful so kind and caring.

I’ve literally just started (one session in) with her so I can’t vouch for too much, but I’m really liking her so far—Hannah Verdin at Tending the Roots. She says she specializes in PTSD and I was recommended by a friend who loves her. Good luck.

If you have insurance, I’d suggest starting there. If insurance isn’t a factor, I’ve had a few social interactions with [this person](https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/bre-a-domescik-indianapolis-in/342456) and can endorse their youth and progressiveness as a person, which I’m guessing translates to them as a therapist.

I had a hard time tracking someone down in town, especially those taking new clients. If you run into this problem, she could try AmWell. It’s online therapy / psychologist / psychiatrist appointments. I’m using it now, and the convenience is great, and I don’t notice any real difference from in-person appointments. It’s also HIPPA compliant.

There are some therapists out there that will offer a sliding scale, most likely not billing insurance at all. I was able to find one that did at [Meridian Psychological Associates](http://www.mpaindy.com/) but I'm not sure if he's still there. I know I did have to call around, there were others that offered sliding scales, but the wait for an appointment was lengthy with them.
