Doe anyone know of a doctor in the Dryden\Cortland or Ithaca area that is excepting new patients? Mine left her practice today and I really need a new one. Let me know....

Doctor Who Night at Horseheads Library; Wednesday, March 5th, 5:30-8:00. I need recommendations. I'm planning to show three episodes, One Tennant, one Baker and The Day...

Paula M. replied:
David Tennant: the Christmas episode when he goes back to Victorian England alone.
David J. replied:
From the looks of it, you'll only have time to show one Tennant episode (60 min) and the Day of the Doctor (90 min). Any Tom Baker story would consist of four 30 min episodes.
Deannda N. replied:
Tennant should be the one where he and Donna reconnect. The Little Fat People one......will find the name when I get home. Loved that one

I'd also recommend The Fires of Pompeii (never get tired of watching that one). But, given that this is a library thing, maybe make a Who episode that is more literary...like The Shakespeare Code or The Unicorn and the Wasp.
Acupuncture in Ithaca? I need to find a good acupuncturist in Ithaca to help manage stomach pain. I have zero experience with acupuncture. Any good recommendations?

I dont know if acupuncture will help your stomach pain (I second the gastroenterologist suggestion) BUT Ithaca Community Acupuncture is great. its between state and seneca, down near Saigon Kitchen. Ive been there multiple times and have had good experiences. I went in very skeptical; I dont know if it has any direct health benefit, but I will say it was VERY relaxing and I had an atypical feeling of bodily wellbeing that lasted multiple days afterwards. If nothing else, you get an hour nap in a dimly lit room in a comfy chair; surely that is good for you, especially if youre busy. Costs are sliding scale, with "45 / session" at the top end. Theres a short intake the first time (so plan on an extra 20 mins). They will seat you in a LAZYBOY or similar recliner (your choice) in a large room, do the needles, then you just lay there until you feel done. My visits were typically 45-60 mins, but they dont rush you out or have a set limit (aside from their business hours) NOTE: there will probably be other people in the room! its monitored and Ive not seen any funny business or bad behaviors, though. good luck!

I wouldn't recommend acupuncture. It's complete pseudo-science. I would ask your Gastroenterologist why he thinks it could help with stomach pain and then immediately find a doc who isn't a quack. https://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/acupuncture-doesnt-work/

I found acupuncture effective for my stomach ulcer and headaches after a brain injury. I went to Jin Fang, her practice is on south hill off of coddington road. Her and her husband John Shang have been practicing traditional Chinese acupuncture and herbal medicine for many years and are well known. Their website is yinyangedu.com or you can google yin fang acupuncture Ithaca I hope you find it effective and wish you well in your recovery!
