Dr Church! Smithfield Road animal Hospital in Knightdale. It only takes me about 20 minutes to get there but it's well worth the drive I would not take my pets to any other vet ever! He has always been there for our pets during office hours and even on the weekends for emergencies if we need him!!!!
Jennifer T. replied:
We absolutely LOVE Rolesville Animal Hospital! We have 2 labs, both having some issues over the last few months and Rolesville has been amazing, so very caring!

I want to recommend Dr. Lee Darch if you are looking for an old fashioned, good and honest vet. Yes he is a somewhat far from the comforts of wake forest and he is a bit...

I have used Darch for years; he is THE BEST. I found him when a breeder told me to use him and only him and I have never looked back.
Barbara R. replied:
Dr. Darch AWESOME! Won't go anywhere else. Cares for my dogs like they are his own. Always gentle and caring.
Karen W. replied:
Dr Darch is the best vet I've ever seen! He took my 13 yr old dachshund in on Friday and did a full dental extraction, all his shots, nails clipped, heart worm check, meds and anal glands for only 342.00!
He is the closest thing to tv's dr pol! For those with negative comments, nobody is perfect! My greatest dog out of my five dogs is healthy and lucky to be alive! He is now 12 but, when he was 7 months he was hit by a car which broke his femur! All the vets in the triangle area were called including nc vet school! Nc state wanted $3700... all the other vets wanted $900 and two to three thousand in payments! Dr Darch got me in contact with the only ortho vet in the triangle! He wanted the same $900 and I said and how much in payments! He said I have been telling all the vets in the triangle $900 for two days! That what I want! I gave him $300 down and $100 a week! All the other vets recomended $100 to put him down! I love the best dog I have ever had now at 12! Dr darch has done everything else my dog has ever needed! He is the only vet in the area that didnt suggest $900 + $2000 to $3000 in payments! He referred me to the best doc instead and didn't show the out and out greed of his peers! What a great doctor!
Tricia W. replied:
Dr. Darch and his family were dairy farmers, he's spent his entire life around animals big and small and is a very caring and compassionate vet who has always been upfront and honest so I could make the best decision about the health and wellbeing of pets.
Sara H. replied:
Like said before, he is a very caring vet, but sometimes a little rough around the edges. That doesn't mean that he's uncaring or unkind to the animals or their parents. It just means that he's looking out for the animal and not so much the human's fee lings. So, many people get their feelings hurt because he (or some other doctor) wasn't nice enough to them. It's not always about YOU. Anyhow, I just took my Mikee (18 year old cat) that just passed away this past Monday, up there to have him cremated. I'll be able to pick him up Thursday. He told my 11 year old son "sorry about your kitty cat." It only takes 15-20 mins. straight up Capital/US1N. It is a nice drive. After you go through Kittrell, you will see it on your right, way out in front of you. It's a one story brick building. Turn right right before it. There's a sign for US1 Business. Kittrell Animal Hospital . They do close at 5 now, Mon.- Fri. and at 11 on Sat. It's a walk-in clinic, so you don't need an appointment. =^.^=
Jennifer G. replied:
We went to Darch for about 15 years and I have mixed feelings. If you like the straightfoward approach, then he is good. For me, I need a vet that has a better bedside manner and his curtness hurt my feelings many times. To his credit once he realized I was sensitive, he tried to be more caring towards me. I also had an issue where he cut corners on diagnosing and my dog almost died. He admited this and apologized and gave me free vet care for a year to make up for the $1500 I had to spend on emergency surgery at a 24 hr vet to save my puppy, which I appreicated. However, he saved my old dog and diagnosed a spider bite that another vet missed. Hence the mixed feelings. However, I LOVED his daughter and would have driven to Kitrell if she was with the practice. Her bedside manner worked more with my personality and I was sad she left the practice. While he is affordable, I think that sometimes translates into not using the latest techniques and technologies. We are now at Rolesville Vet which has been a perfect fit for us in terms of caring, cost and latest medical techniques. I think he is a good vet, but I don't neccessarily think he is a fit for all people depending on your personality.

ISO a vet that will do payment plans. I need to update my dogs vaccines but don't have a ton of money to shell out at once. I know about care credit but I'd rather not...

Smithfield Road vet in Knightdale is super affordable with their vaccination plans....
Michelle K. replied:
Pet Supermarket has vaccination clinics once a month at their stores. You can get all of the a heartworm test and all shots including rabies for around $90.00. It is a great deal.
Darlynn L. replied:
One way we save money is doing Bordatella ourselves. You can get it at Tractor Supply for less than the vet. It is an optional vaccination, so you might even opt out if you never board your pet. I do it because I also foster.
Michelle S. replied:
We see Dr. Tran at Heritage Animal Hospital - she is wonderful and will let you make payments
Mary D. replied:
You can do your own shots, except for rabies, very cheaply. Sold at Southern States and Tractor Supply.
Tractor Supply has a clinic they do once in a while...but I go to the Banfield in Wake Forest, I have a plan for all my dogs & added there heartworm & flea meds to the plan & I pay once a month.
Heidi M. replied:
If you have a local vet, check what their immunization policy is. Our vet is now a 3 year rabies, parvo, distemper etc and only recommend the lepto once a year. The bordatella really only needs to be done if animals left at vets, groomer, etc. You can also buy them at Tractor Supply and do them yourself. The 9 way is about 12.00. The kennel cough/bordatella is about 8.50. We do all ours at home and give our vet the info off vials for records.

You can try Tuscan Ridge Animal Hospital. They are reasonably priced, and I'm pretty sure they have payment options. Dr. Harper is the vet, and she as well as her staff are amazing! As an added bonus it is hands down the most inviting clinic I've ever been to. It's located near the factory.

Absolutely Kittrell Animal Hospital (Dr. Darch). He owned N. Wake Animal Clinic for years and is the reason that some still mention them today, but he left to open a new practice in Kittrell. He's the best, cheapest, and most caring around.
My German Shepard needs to be boarded and he needs his Bordetella and Distemper up to date.
Looking for a reasonable Vet service to go to.
Diana J. replied:
https://www.facebook.com/kittrellanimalhospitalDr. Darch is supposed to have the best prices and really seems to care about the pets in his care. He used to own North Wake Animal -- his new location in Kittrell I've heard is worth the drive. We are planning on checking them out to get Rosie's teeth cleaned Dr Darch is about $60 less than our reg vet!!!
Craig D. replied:
Another for Dr. Darch!
Susan W. replied:
Tractor Supply carries them both, I believe, The distemper is a sq injection, very easy to do yourself and bordetella goes in the nose. Should cost you no more than $15.00 to do yourself.

Tamara L. replied:
A lot of boarding facilities will not accept do it yourself immunizations. But Tractor supply does have a mobile service that comes in once a month if you call them for the dates in times of the clinic and it is reasonable. I like like that carolina animal hospital in creedmoor but in an emergency or for a quick cheap alternative tractor supply has given my dog shots

We just boarded our GSD and went to Dr. Darch! He is seriously the only person I know of where "you get what you pay for" is not valid! He's awesome and 1/2 the price of the other places I've been to around here....literally 1/2 the price! He's also the most competent vet I've talked to in the area (and I've talked to a bunch!!!)
