Hi all! I need a vet recommendation. I loved Dr. Darch's no-nonsense approach but Kittrell is too far for me to travel with two kiddos. Does anyone have a straight...

Dr. Church, Smithfield Road Vet. It may be a drive for you but 100% worth it!!
Carol C. replied:
Rolesville Animal Hospital. They are always there when we ever needed them. They even stayed when I called then 10 minutes before closing when my dog got attracted. They took care of her and made sure she was going to be OK before we had to go to emergency vet. They called several times checking on her.
Kate H. replied:
Dr Fisher off Gresham Lake Rd.

I am looking for a vet that will perform at-home pet euthanasia. Does anyone have a recommendation? Thanks so much.
Traci Q. replied:
Call Quail Corners Animal Hospital
Rachel F. replied:
I second Dr. Manning. He came to our home in Louisburg when our old kitty had to be put to sleep and was very compassionate and reasonably priced. So sorry for your loss.
Frances C. replied:
Kelly Harper at Tuscan Ridge Animal Hospital WF did for us.
Chris S. replied:
Jonathan Castro is the best at home vet I know.
Suzanne S. replied:
Mobile Vet. Dr. Sagris. She is so kind and wonderful
Paula L. replied:
We have used Dr. Jennifer Frey who owns Peaceful Passing 919-672-0686. What you are looking for is the service she provides. We go to Quail Corners and they have a couple of vets that will come to the house also. We used her services 2 times in one year for our 2 cats and she took them with her to the crematory so we didn't have to handle those arrangements. I have children that had a very hard time when the time came and she was very patient until they could compose themselves and say good-bye. So sorry.
Jonathan C. replied:

We JUST had Dr. Bennett from Wake Forest Animal Hospital come out yesterday to put our sweet dog Bailey down. She and Ashlee were very compassionate and gave us all the time we needed. I am so sorry you are going through this as the pain is horrible! Sending hugs your way!
Michael K. replied:
We just had our Simone put to sleep on our back deck 2 weeks ago with the help of Heartwood Animal Hospital. Looks like you've got lots of options already, and that's good. Very sorry you're facing this issue.

We go to Dr James Bell in Castroville! He actually owns swissies himself and so does some of his staff.
I was referred to your group because I have a rescued collie -smooth coat. His name is Satchel. Because of CEA he is totally blind. We are new to the Charlotte NC area...
Chris M. replied:
http://www.carolinavet.com in Charlotte & Greensboro have ophthalmologists.
Debbie O. replied:
Try Carolina Vetinary Specialists off S. Tryon in Charlotte. He may be retired now, but our ophthalmologist there years ago was Jesse Eichenbuam.
Pam B. replied:
We also saw Dr. Eichenbaum in Charlotte about 6 years ago for our sheltie's corneal dysplasia. He was very professional. I think you'd be pleased with him.
Bobby C. replied:
I have great things about Dr. English, in Cary, as well. Raleigh also has the NCSU vet school specialist. Like Michele said- a bit of a drive but all are good. Love that white smoothie coat on Satchel! Sweet face too!
Pam B. replied:
Dr English is who I use but he is a long way from Charlotte.
Ann K. replied:
Dr. Sigle at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Greensboro. She's wonderful!
Sara F. replied:
Welcome to Charlotte, Satchel. We have a collie with CEA and sees only partially in one eye In Charlotte adopted from CRC. We saw a veterinary opthomologist when we got him. He was referred by our vet and was in Pineville. I think it was Carolina veterinary specialists mentioned above. They were very nice but said nothing they can do with CEA.
This isn't exactly horse related but dogs have 4 legs and fur too so I was wondering if anyone has used the petsmart vet plan for puppies/dogs? I rescued a puppy who is...
Amanda C. replied:
I took all 3 of mine to spca of wake county. They have a great program that is affordable. http://www.spcawake.org/site/PageNavigator/Saving_Lives_spay_neuter_clinic.html
Bianca G. replied:
Petsmart is corporate so they have a routine and standardize protocol they have to follow. I work for CareFirst on Oberlin Road and I could not speak highly enough about them. Dr. Wages made it in the finalists for Americas Top Vet. They are all very educated and will listen to all your concerns. I have never liked Banfield. I would continue to bring my animals to Carefirst even if I didn't work for them.
Andrea I. replied:
Love Mayfair Vet.on Maynard in Cary. Took care of my dog all of his life..16.5 years and he gated the vet and screamed the whole time but they still loved him and took great care of him.
Amanda G. replied:
Love petSmart, HATE Banfield. Caused a lot of problems for my Weimaraner after she cut her foot, then wouldn't take responsibility until I threatened legal action. Went back to Town and Country Vet in Apex. They have always been amazing w our pets. You get what you pay for ya know? Good luck! Oh and look up SNAP-NC mobile spat clinic, they're awesome and reasonably priced.
Emily G. replied:
I've heard good things about Mayfair AH. Also Kildaire Farm AH at the intersection of Cary Pkwy and Kildaire Farm Rd. Good luck with the puppy!
Laura L. replied:
PetSound Animal Hospital is great & they love rescue pets! Behind Danny's BBQ & O'Charley's next to WakeMed Cary off Tryon & Kildaire.
Regina L. replied:
I've never been but one of my former teachers at tech school (a Veterinarian in KY) knows Dr. Wages and highly recommended her.
