Lindsay Shaw do you have a contact # for Karen? Queenie Hood I have told them about the shock collar, actually their is one that omits a citrus spray when they bark that I really like. Erin Hooper WHATS UP! Man it's good to have friends in all the right places. Thanks girl, I will pass that on. Sure appreciate the help everyone.

Might want to consider a behavior consult with Dr. Julia Albright at University of TN College of Veterinary Medicine. Board Certified Behaviorists are hard to come by and we're lucky enough to have a great one here in Knoxville.
Can anyone recommend a positive, force-free dog trainer in our area? (Please, no "balanced" or "dominance" trainers. If they use an e-collar, don't even think about it!)

Does anyone know of a dog trainer anywhere near my home of Lake City? I need to have my big Golden trained and maybe he and I could go together!

Not sure exactly what you are looking for but here is a place in Powell that has a couple of different options. They have reviews on their website and what they offer. http://puppyluvfarms.com/behavioral-training/

Can anyone recommend a dog trainer in West Knox or Loudon County? I have a 3 mo old puppy and would like to get him through basic obedience training (at least) before he...

I highly recommend Paula Patton who works through Barkside Lodge in Lenoir City. [Courteous Canine Training](http://www.barksidelodge.com/training.html) Her classes really helped when I adopted a rescue coonhound that had been a hunting dog. He had no training and had never lived indoors.

We just took our dog through PetSmart school. It was overall a good experience! They try to upsell you on other classes as well, but the training was very hands on and well done.

Brewster's Bark and Bed is located just beyond Friendsville off hwy 321 (near Weigles). They offer a few different obedience packages I believe. We have boarded our dog there a few times when going out of town. We love them! They have a Facebook page if you'd like to look them up. There may be another one in Knoxville but I'm not sure. Good luck with your search!

As a veterinary student, I highly recommend Hanna from My Curious Canine. She is great and employs the fear free strategies we use in the clinic in her training. PM me if you need contact info.

Hi this is Hanna with My Curious Canine. I’d love to talk to you about my gentle, psychology based approach to training and how I can help you achieve your goals. All my courses are personalized to fit your goals and designed to bring the trainer out in you. What makes my program so unique is I make everything real world applicable. I never ask you to set aside x amount of time to practice, I just ask that you view your daily interactions with your dog as opportunities. For example, if I am teaching you how to achieve a “sit” command you could use it at your daily interaction of letting your dog out, that will create a habit to sit for guests and to not rush out the door and run away. Dogs are creatures of routine so whatever behaviors we are working on, it’s best to work on them where the routine happens, either at your home or the public places you actually want to visit. You don’t want them being good at petsmart or a facility and then coming home to fall back into old habits. It’s a lot easier for you to get the most out of your training program when you trainer can see the behaviors in action. You can contact me anytime and book a FREE Meet and Greet on my website. www.mycuriouscanine.com

I highly recommend Hanna at My Curious Canine as well! I see that several people on here already reccomended her on and that makes me so happy:) She is seriously the sweetest and most down to earth woman, and she brings that personality into her training. We have a Daschund and a German Shepard and we couldn't get them to stay in the fence or to use the bathroom outside before we met Hannah. She trained both of our dogs and did such a wonderful job and was so gentle with them. Now not only do they stay in the fence and do what they are supposed to, they know cute tricks as well. We often have kids over and have a 5 year old son who she also incorporated into the training. 10/10 And would rate her a 100/10 if given the chance!
