City Lock in Boulder may have an aftermarket key available, or you may be able to find a cheap replacement online and have them cut and program it. The cost depends on the car model. keylessride.com

Yikes! Is the key ruined? Or is it usable if removed carefully? If it’s the latter Maybe check with the little place on Baselines just west of South Public. If the key is ruined - Herb Axe’s suggestion is great because those car companies charge a pretty penny to replace programmed keys.

If your car's key has a transponder chip (which by all accounts it must have given the dealer rate), it must be cut and programmed into your vehicles computer to activate the ignition. See Buffalo Lock and Key in Boulder.
