There is the Hilltop Nursery in Dover, The Garden Cart in Alma (both have FB pages so you can see if they are still open this late) The Family Tree Nursery in Liberty has really nice stuff. Heartland Nursery in Lee's Summit is good. It's kind of late in the summer, so pickings may be slim. Every April the Lexington Garden Club has a plant auction where the plants are always hardy.
