Looking for recommendations - we're wanting to replace the windows at our house (20+ windows). We've met with Window World and Lowe's, anyone local you all would suggest?

I used Home Depot Jeld Wyn windows. They are custom made to look exactly like the old ones. Other window companies would not reproduce the look I wanted. These windows have been great. The price is also less than many high-end brands and the warranty is better.

I am a registered, licensed and insured residential and commercial contractor. I was the window and door division working supervisor for Back Construction before starting Armstrong Construction about 4 years ago. I install windows and doors for Clay Ingels, Lexington Building Supply, Elite Building Products, and others. I am aiming for a clientele that is not shopping strictly for price alone- there are MANY suppliers for vinyl windows who employ $10-15 hourly help. Typically, those are the guys who will be doing the actual work! Most of the work of that caliber that I have seen and repaired leaves me feeling like these guys are not craftsmen, and do not care about the quality of their work. I do the work. I answer the phone. I send out the invoices. I am a one-man show. I only make excuses about my full schedule. I stay busy. Fortunately, there is a 4-6 week lead time on the windows that I typically install. That usually gives me the time to schedule the install enough in advance that the scheduling works out. I have done work in the neighborhood, and take a great deal of pride in my professional reputation as a craftsman. Clay Ingels extends a generous (65% of list price) discount to me on windows and doors (excluding some custom doors and windows) which I pass on to my clients. You can reach Armstrong Construction at (859) 619 4413. I do not like to conduct business over Facebook, so messaging me via facebook may not get my attention. I haven't been on Facebook regularly lately- perhaps that explains the novel I just typed!

Recommend a window tint installer? Looking for a good installer in town and not looking to cheap out. Please recommend a shop you or someone you know has used and...

Precision Tint on Nicholasville Rd. Have had a couple of cars done there and he did a great job. I would avoid Lucky's like the plague. They screwed up my back window defrost lines and denied it. Remember, you get what you pay for. If you go cheap just know that the cheaper tints are dyed and will most likely fade and turn purple. I go with the ceramic, it's pricey but worth it to me.

The Tint Man does a good job and his wife is very polite and friendly.

I had a guy come to my house and do mobile tinting. I think he did a good job, guarantees it for life. If you want his number, pm me. He did 2 front side windows@20% and a strip across the front window@5% for $60.

I would caution against Lucky's.
The tint they put on was great (had it almost 2 years now) and haven't had any problems out of it but the entire experience was pretty damn pathetic.
Taken from my review on Yelp (easier to copy/paste than to retype)
> Was referred by my father to try Lucky's. I went to have tint on my window replaced.
> The price was reasonable ($100: I later found out that for just a bit more they could have replaced the tint on all of my windows instead of just one. Had they up sold this, I would have bought it.)
> The tint turned out great (they gave me no instructions on cleaning it but luckily my father informed me not to turn on the defroster for at least 2-3 days or clean the residue they left all over the window) but when I got my car back there was white residue ALL over my leather seats. Literally everywhere. I walked back in to inquire about it and the gentleman behind the counter just looked at me and said "Oh that's just the soap and water mixture we use. It wipes right off". I stood there for a few seconds just looking at him and asked "Can you have someone clean it please?"
> I was extremely unhappy with the fact that I had just paid them for a service and they returned my vehicle to me dirtier and messier than it was when I dropped it off. There were over 10 different large spots of white residue on my black leather seats.
> I will likely not be coming back here. The level of professionalism is extremely lacking. I would never return a customers car with dirt and residue that wasn't there when I received the car. They did a good job on the tint but everything else was horrible.
You can see the pictures of how they returned my car to me [here](https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/luckys-autosports-lexington-2?userid=HMyDOdffWKDkMMS6Z2H3-g)
First impressions are everything and I will never suggest to anyone to use Lucky's.
