Dr Wiam at the gulf diabetes centre ground floor. He is excellent and knows what he is talking about.

Narcia and Joerg, is Dr Wiam still at the Gulf Diabetes Centre? When I tried to get an appt a couple of months back, they told me he was leaving and no apts available? I have Hashimotos and have been to a few Endos here in Bahrain. They treat your lab results and not how you're feeing or the root cause. Please pm me if you want any further info. Hope you get sorted Helena - it took me 6 months of feeling lethargic, nauseous etc...until I finally got everything balanced. I am reading the Root Cause, by Dr Isabella Wentz - highly recommend it (Amazon sell it). All the best.

Ask for a FULL thyroid function test including antibodies. If you are hypothyroid, go gluten free and soy free to lower your TSH. Research it and visit Dr Izabella Wentz website. Going gluten free significantly lowered my blood test results! Check out: www.thyroidpharmacist.com 95% of people diagnosed with hypothyroidism have an autoimmune disease called Hashimotos. You will find it hard to find a consultant in Bahrain who will explain everything to you! I have tried. Instead my advice is to see a naturopath. Mine lives in NZ but there is a lady in Bahrain called Dejana Subsol (from South Africa). www.dsnaturopathy.com Karimeh, your endocrinologist will (or should) test your vitamin D- it's very important! If deficient you can take D3 and K2. Oh, and don't forget to ask for a thyroid ultrasound to check for nodules. And always ask for a thyroid guard if you have an x ray or mammogram to stop the radiation. Good luck.
