I believe the Shape Up Shoppe has boxing classes. A few of my friends took classes there and really enjoyed and they were effective https://www.facebook.com/356103441145140 The Shape Up Shoppe

Fitness Asylum on Greeley. It's been a part of my lifestyle for 8 years and I love it. 35 minute classes during the week which are very effective. Price is reasonable, too. Check out the Groupon http://gr.pn/2 fo3Mjt

The city or the county? How serious are talking? There's like 6 gyms if you count the county and 3 in the city.
I am looking for a nearby gym/fitness center to join-- not a throw-heavy-weights around, real-intense place. Just a clean, friendly place for a middle-aged gal to lose a...

Anytime Fitness in Cudahy is on Packard Ave. 24 hr, clean, and people are really friendly.

I like that bay view fitness has a few different fitness gurus working there independently, it's just too pricy for me and too far away. I'm thinking while ShapeUp Shoppe has some great classes it's probably more expensive than I'm willing to pay, but I'll check it out anyway. I get a discount at work for the Y, but that only brings it down from "omg expensive" to "wow. that's way more than I was planning" especially with classes. Planet Fitness seems intersting, and while I've heard Blast can be gross, it's still the most convenient for me. Snap isn't very convenient for me, and frankly, I *hate* the windows.

Betsy, Blast Fitness is on Layton but I kinda wonder about the cleanliness. I checked it out for a week and witnessed tons of room leaks plus the machines are right next to each other.....not much personal space. Planet Fitness is nice... Location downtown and on 27 th. 24 hr, very clean, big, they have free fitness training, and super cheap $10 month.
Hey Bay View - I'm coordinating the Winter Sports program at Fernwood Montessori. I'm in desperate need of an alternate gym. Anyone got any leads?
Thanks!

I go to Planet Fitness in South Milwaukee and I really like it. Clean, affordable and no commitment.

Cream City CrossFit Co-op is Milwaukee’s only member-owned gym. If you’re looking for functional fitness and strength training, you won’t find better than CCCFC. We have the best-trained coaches, a doctor of physical therapy on site, and it’s just a fun place to work out.
not sure I can ask this here, but anyone know a great deal about gym shoes aka comfortable walking around gym shoes? completely clueless on this topic.

looking for a gym that has a swimming pool. are there any in the general area that aren't uber-expensive? thanks!

The Shorewood Community Center pool aint bad

Shorewood is nice, and if you only want to swim, you can buy a punch-card and just pay each time you swim, without a full rec center membership. Basic amenities (shower, hot tub, sauna) http://www.shorewood.k12.wi.us/page.cfm?p=2743
