If you have homeowners insurance it is covered! You need to NOT call your agent nor insurance company (unless you don’t want to get what you should and have to pay out of your own pocket). Call immediately a licensed Public Adjuster ! Public Adjusters represent and protect the policyholder. With a roof leak there is a lot of hidden damage that needs to be fixed also that the insurance company and its adjuster will ignore or downplay. Don’t let it happen. If you do not know one, an excellent one is Peter Trachtenberg. He is with Metro Public Adjustment/the largest and oldest firm in the world. His number is 973-903-4257.
