The NBAC clinic is a WA health public service at Kemh. WA health also outsource to Community Midwifery WA to provide their person centred childbirth and pregnancy related support, advocacy and education to women. Give them a call on 94306882 and they can explain your many.choices of care to help you choose personalized care and can link you with the options available to you at NBAC. CMWA also run the vbac preparation classes and positive c section classes for public consumers, in fact mums who choose to birth in private hospitals also access also CMWA but pay a fee. Good luck....the CMWA website WWW.CMWA.net.au has more detailed information.
Cassandra B. replied:
E - I had my vbac at kemh 2 months ago, I had an appointment with the nbac midwives first then an appointment with a consultant ob to talk about my non standard management plan. I had an independent midwife so I didn't do any further visits to the clinic but when I went into labour I had some great midwives who let me do what I needed to do. I think as I had signed off on a non standard management plan they gave me pro-vbac midwives which was awesome. Please ring the nbac clinic because they would like to see you earlier than that. Also for more information to inform yourself check out birthrites as mentioned, vbac facts.com and birth without fear.com. Best of luck!

The issue I think you may have is the kids specific menu is never gluten free. However I also have a friend whos son is coeliac and she gets away with taking him a packed lunch when we eat out and everywhere has been understanding. I think also because obviously the adults are buying meals & drinks etc:)

They even have GF items on the kids menu and separate GF prep area. Also Elixr Cafe in Wanneroo are quite knowledgable and usually have a couple of things the kids can enjoy GF. And lastly, the Kingsley Fish & Chip shop have a separate chip fryer and a separate grill for fish. Definitely join the coeliac Australia Facebook group. Best of all kids eat free between 5 & 6 for the kids meals so even if doesn't eat it all you don't have to worry about the cost. Staff are very knowledgeable and its a great atmosphere. Fast Eddy's in the city has a separate GF (you just need to ask) menu and the owner is a coeliac so they are very aware of cross contamination. Gluten Free Eating out Perth, Western Australia Coeliac Disease in Australia Coeliac Disease Support Group Australia & Coeliac Disease in Australia & New Zealand are great groups. You will find many parents of Coeliac children in these groups who are more than willing to answer any questions are a great support network. All the best

Hi guys just wondering if anyone could let me know what dr anna Holmes is like as an obstetrician ? Thanks in advance

Hi, not really kiddie related but...
Emma B. replied:
T- I had Anna Holmes for baby 2 and 3 after baby 1 had a stroke during labour thanks to poor care, she is no nonsense, straight to the point and doesn't muck about, she supported my choice to trial vbac and she and her nurse Marie were there with support and advice when I had complications with bub 3. She is expensive but if I have another baby ill be booking in with her! S - tippy toe walking can be caused by physical, neurological or developmental issues. I would get a referral to a paediatrician to get it checked. Don't ask for a referral, go in and tell the dr you are there for a referral
Fiona M. replied:
this is a nightmare if you dont deal with it......get a referral to the State Children's Health centre on riola st in West Perth.....toe walking can either be caused from neurological issues or by the fact child is above their hight range for their age. if possiblr start massaging the calves and get them to stretch their legs out and then push their feet back. if child doesnt grow out of it....then they will need serial casting.....Helen the physio at the Childrens health centre is amazing........saved us years of pain and future surgeries......

Anna Holmes was my ob for both my children and I absolutely loved her and would definitely recommend her. Her midwife Marie is just so lovely also and you're not charged for visits with her (making the overall cost to see Anna comparatively low when compared to other obs - at least it was back when I was researching for my first pregnancy). N: defiantly push for blood (or even urine tests, if your 3 yr old is still in nappy's dont stress they have ways to do urine tests too) to test his sugar levels, he could be a undiagnosed diabetic which can be extremely dangerous if left too long, which he could also have Celiac Disease (Gluten Intolerance which is more common in diabetics) which would explain his tummy aches! N: I had some similar issues with my daughter, I have seen numerous doctors including paediatricians, neurologists and GP's, this also involved a lot of sleep tests and ECG's which weren't that pleasant for my little girl. I finally went Hyman Medical in Ellenbrook and saw one of the doctors there who actually took the time to look up her nose and in her ears, throat and checked her chest to find out that she has extremely large adenoids and severe allergic rhinitis and that they needed to come out, seen a private ENT and they are due to come out in 2 weeks.......not bad, it only took 5 years lol. All I can say is go with your gut and see as many different doctors as it takes until you feel have achieved the best outcome, it may take a lot of years but it does pay off. If you can afford to go private for ENT, I would recommend it as it saves waiting for PMH:)
Dr Baker at Port Kennedy, or if after a female Dr Moore but the others are also very good and the centre is run by the president of the WA AMA Dr Choong! Plus the receptionists and nurses are brilliant
