Depends on the type of surgery. I had a "Lars/Legamy" repair to my ruptured ACL 12 weeks ago. Been riding a road bike for the last 3 weeks and am about to go back to trail riding with a knee brace. I am aiming at going back to DH in August. If you're having a complete reconstruction with hamstring harvesting, it will be a longer recovery. My physio is John Annear at Beatty Park Physio. My surgeon was Peter Annear and he is the leading surgeon in "Lars / Legamy repairs". Good luck!! It sucks!

Can vouch for Peter Annear. He did my Lars ligament this time last year. got back into light riding about 8 months after surgery. gave it a year before I did any stupid things and its still fine now. Lots of rehab and ice is the trick. They sayyou can ride 6 months after but Would realisticly be looking at 8-12 months. Its not something you want to rush as hard as it is not to ride!
