It's unfortunately tough to get into a lot of places here. The area is seeing a lot of growth in the child population (North Allegheny SD is just finishing up construction on one of their elementary schools and redistricting the elementary and middle schools because of this). I can tell you there's a place on Sample Road you *shouldn't* put your kid in, according to someone I know. But as for places you should... Have you tried St. Paul's United Methodist Church on Ferguson road? They've got a got a (secular) daycare in the church building as well as before/after school care.

We’ve been waiting 2 years for some of the daycares around Mt Lebanon/USC to open up and are instead at one down near my wife’s work by Southpointe because all the “affordable” nearby ones are full. She’ll likely be in kindergarten by the time they open up at this rate.

Have you tried Hiland in West View? We only used them for preschool, but the day care was cute and looked clean and all of the kids looked happy.

My kids are also at St Paul's for preschool and we started late. There's still room in some of the classes; we're in pre-K. The daycare is, like /u/sockar101 said, full. Even their waitlist is full. hey, /u/sockar101, do you know if the after-school care is still an option? I know daycare is full, drop in is full, even the waitlist is closed... but what about a random day after school if I can't make it to get my kids in time?

Thanks all for your replies unfortunately everywhere is full for my toddlers age group... I’ll keep looking but as it stands I think I need to stay casual and my mom watch her for a couple days per week but it’s not s long term solution! But thanks all it good to know I’m not the only one whose had this issue...

We're at Ali Alligator in Cranberry and our kids love it. We're also very happy with the care there too. We were at Tender Care on the Warrendale/ Cranberry border on 19. Just moved a couple months ago so maybe they didn't fill our spot yet. We liked it there too.

I would recommend that she reaches out to UD's Admission and Financial Aid department. When I was at Dayton from '03-'07, I got fantastic help every year from a man named Don Vince who works in that department. He helped me find scholarships and grants every year I attended Dayton and is a wonderful person on top of it.
