A facebook friend recently started something up. I don't really know her well, so I can't vouch for her work too much, but she seems to do a good job and since she's just starting out her prices might be reasonable. [Avoid Capristo Salon!](http://capristosalon.com/) A friend got married and used them. It was a mess. They had to 45 minutes until the staff were ready for them. They promised sparkling wine. There was a single bottle of sparkling wine. They had half the staff they were promised. The bridesmaids had to do their own makeup. One had to do her own hair. It was your usual updo affair and Capristo scrimped on bobby pins contrary to the bridesmaids requests. It was a real amateur shit show.

Dean's Shadyside is okay - overpriced. They did my hair and were going to do my makeup, but the makeup artist cancelled on me a week before the wedding. I avoid them now on principle. Philip Pelusi Squirrel Hill fit us in for makeup on that short of notice - so I love them for that. I've been for wedding makeup twice, they're great! White House on Walnut is my top recommendation though. You feel like you're at a spa, they have pastries and wine for you, stylists are incredible... you can't go wrong here.

For my girls, mother and my hair and make up we used Glamorous Bridal Productions. http://glamorousbridalproductions.com/ I had an awesome team who showed up on time, we're dedicated to each girl and did a wonderful job giving my girls what they wanted and loved! My girls were beautiful! The team came to us and it was stress free! Enough help to allow for great timing and no rush! Very professional. I loved my hair and make up, thank gosh for waterproof airbrush... Held up perfectly all night (thru all my tear of joy, happiness and crazy dancing). I highly recommend GBP and Chelsea Bugielski to help make you as beautiful of a bride as you've dream of since you were a little girl!!

Can anyone recommend a salon in Pittsburgh for bride and bridal party up-dos that is awesome and won't break the bank? Any suggestions would be awesome! Thank you!

Not sure if it's close enough but I used to go to - and they did our hair for my wedding - Hair By Damian in Shadyside. Ask for Jen and Jen (second Jen they nicknamed Layla). They are both amazing.

Another Hair Salon on route 910 in Gibsonia is really good too, though I have NO idea of their prices. I've seen their work and it's very, very good

NOVA salon is good. I'm going there. It is right across from Heinz Hall.

Lizzie from Salon Vivace is great... And she can go to the hotel or wedding site with a friend--- much cheaper that way! Plus then the stylist gets all the money instead if only a tiny percent!
