One year ago today, Jeremy Roberts was diagnosed with melanoma. Luckily, it was caught very early and surgery was all he needed. It could have (would have) been much...

Kristi R. replied:
https://www.facebook.com/hollie.jones.3785 , this is Jonathon Richey, a man. I see him, too, and he's pretty much the least threatening man you'll ever meet :) . I wanted a female derm, but I love him and feel totally comfortable with him.

I removed my stomach pic since you saw it, https://www.facebook.com/grace.profusion . It doesn't need to be on permanent public display.

https://www.facebook.com/hollie.jones.3785, i see a woman if you perfer women. Christine Bailey in McKinney. I had a thorough check after Samuel was born and had several removals resulting in scars (two on my face). All were clear which shocked me since I spent 17 summers in a tanning bed and I am so fair skinned.
Kristi R. replied:
Well, and to be honest, https://www.facebook.com/jeremyroberts 's melanoma was in a spot that never sees the sun (right about where your pocket falls on your jeans)... unless he's been doing some skinny dipping I didn't know about.
Dermatologist recommendations? Doesn't have to be in Flower Mound if he/she is worth driving for based on recommendation :)

McGuiness is the best! Been to many before, but they were the first to truly help my daughters! Cannot say enough about them! 3 locations, but one is on 2499. Don't let the Plano wording fool you. http://mcguinessdermatology.com/

Dr McGuiness in FM is great and so are others in his practice.
Laura K. replied:
Both my husband and I recently used Dr. McGuiness. He did a very thorough exam and removed several spots from both of us that luckily turned out to be benign. My only complaint was that all removals after the initial visit, are done on separate days....a co-pay for each, that adds up.
Amalee B. replied:
Yes..I just went thru all this and biopsies etc..Dr Bowers ( only) at southlake derm ...and she sent me to Dr Perone off S Mayhill..both dynamite !
Catherine P. replied:
I really like Dr McGuiness. Although I have seen him I usually see the PA Diana Reyes, who I love. Something I really am comforted by though is that he has called me on 2 different occasions while "going through the charts" on a Friday night and a Saturday to ask me questions and as a follow-up after procedures. Very thorough.
Diane M. replied:
I've seen Dr. Bowers the most but everyone else I've seen has been fine.

Sue C. replied:
Our daughter had an issue with huge, raised spots all over her body when she was about 10. We saw three local derms, all between Flower Mound and Plano, yet none of them could figure out what was wrong with her. After spending a fortune on prescriptions and visits, and putting all sorts of gels, creams and pills on and into her, we went to Pediatric Dermatology of North Texas PA in Grapevine. They just looked at her and diagnosed! A biopsy proved they were right and she was clear of spots within a week.
Vanessa S. replied:
I was going to ask a similar note to Katie. I would recommend that you call Dr. Margaret Adair's office in Coppell. She is an allergist, but also a pediatrician. She is extremely thorough and worked several miracles with my daughters skin condition that a dermatologist couldn't touch. I can't speak highly enough and if you call their office and ask to speak to Julie to negotiate her fee. She is very reasonable.

Christina A. replied:
We have gone to Dr. Fred Ghali for things we were concerned about for one of our kids (turned out to be nothing, thank goodness) and we really liked him. One time we thought we had an urgent need and Dr. Ghali couldn't get us in so we went to his partner in Plano and he was just as great. Funny story...one of our kids woke up with what we thought was something freakishly SCARY growing on his arm. I was MORTIFIED and tried hard not to panic in front of him as I'm flying down to Plano to the dermatologist's office...turned out it was GUM. I'm thinking...freaky monster sized parasite...deadly, overgrown amoeba...all the horrible things were running through my brain as I'm trying not to hyperventilate in front of my kid...worried how they are going to kill it, if he'll keep his arm, or if they'll just have to carve it out, etc, etc. NOPE! Turned out that my son fell asleep with gum in his mouth, it fell out and it 'rolled' like a flat worm on his forearm. I'm not going to post this pic here because it's honestly GROSS - flesh colored and just incredibly realistic. So before anyone thinks I'm a twit for not realizing it was gum, even the nurse and doctor were concerned until the doc looked at it under the scope and started picking at it. I texted the pic to my family and EVERYONE was freaked out. LOL Back to your request, if however, over, you don't find a dermatologist you feel comfortable working with in regards to acne, dermatologists Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields have an effective regimen for acne. It comes with an empty bottle, no hassle 60 day return policy if you'd like to give it a try. I am a Rodan and Fields rep and will be placing an order soon in the next few days. If you'd like to try it, I could bundle your order with mine to save you on shipping and would be glad to offer your first regimen at the discounted Preferred Customer rate. So...discounted, free shipping, 60 day money back guarantee...just message me if you are interested:-).
Caroline P. replied:
Wow, I'm glad everything was okay with your son! What a crazy story! And I have heard about Rodan and Fields before...my older sister uses it, actually! Thank you for your information and I will definitely think about it! Thanks again!
Christina A. replied:
Caroline Parker, sorry if you already know all of t his but wanted to add....for acne suffers...one thing I realized many people don't think of is to use a clean washcloth each time you wash your face (many people I've spoken to will use 1 per day - AM and PM, then wash it. If your acne is active, to flip your pillow case over and swap it out after 2 nights...so you are only sleeping on one side each night only until your acne is under control. Also to wash your make up brushes every few days, allow them to air dry and not to use a make up sponge (OR wash it out) after each use. If you use pressed powder, use a lint free cotton pad / gauze pad to apply the powder vs the reusable pad the compact comes with. Wipe down your home phone, work phone, cell phone each time you use it where it hits your skin, etc, etc.
