going to see Dr. Varghese in about 8 hours, after the VA not being able to figure out my seizures after just over a year and a half, they are sending me to him, if he is any good I think I will know by the time I walk out of his office, will shoot you a note with his addy, phone and my feelings on him... if you can wait till tomorrow about noon. My fiancee went to Mackenzie though and really liked him, she had brain surgery in 2005 ( at barrows in Phoenix) and he was her neurologist here after that, so I have heard good things about him, I guess this Varghese is kinda new to the area... let u know how he is....
Nancy C. replied:
Michael, Dr. Varghese is a lady and you'll love her!

Well, just a FYI, just got back from seeing Dr Varghese, spent about an hour with her and she says that my seizures are not from epilepsy they are from stress, have to do tests to verify but that is what I have been telling the VA for over a year, all they do is throw different epilepsy meds at me, so I would say YA, she seems pretty good...
Angel W. replied:
Dr Varghese is mine also. I have non epeleptic seizures and she is extremely thorough!!
Anita C. replied:
I use HealthGrades.com to check on doctor ratings.
I may be in need of a good Neurologist in Prescott/PV soon, thanks to my car accident. Does anybody have any recommendations for good ones around here?
Crystal P. replied:
Dr. Mackenzie ifs the BEST !
Judith H. replied:
John O 'Connor. Terrific.
Jennifer C. replied:
You won't see McKenzie you'll see his PA & all he'll want to do is injections & refer you to Benson. Dr Benson is nice & does try to help but it is nothing but steroid injections that only help for so long. Just a bandaid & not a real fix. Been seen for 5 years by Benson & my results are seeing a surgeon in Phoenix. Good luck to you!
Teresa M. replied:
I appreciate Dr. Golen, have been seeing for several years.
Kristi R. replied:
And Dr Benson is very knowledgeable as is Dr Thomas in that office. He is more for brain and spine issues.
Jennifer C. replied:
My apologies about Dr. McKenzie. I was thinking of Dr. Thomas.
Kristi R. replied:
Mackenzie is fantastic !! I see him and so does my husband. Dr Benson in same office is good too. Very sweet.
Kristi R. replied:
Dr Thomas is the best one in that office for spine, maybe you can ask to see him if you're up for it. You will not find a more passionate guy than DR Harvey Thomas.
Cheryl F. replied:
Ian Livingstone in Cottonwood. I was told he is the best. I got no referrals for Prescott.
Jesselle B. replied:
Definitely Dr McKenzie
Jennifer D. replied:
Dr Varghese is super nice and knows what she is doing. My mom just saw her last week. She is on 169 in Dewey.
Tinamarie C. replied:
My dad sees Dr MacKenzie in Prescott. He is pretty happy with him, says he's a good guy.
Anyone have experience with Dr. Varghese, the neurologist? I've heard Dr. O'Connor is the best but he hasn't accepted new patients in years, followed by Dr. Mackenzie,...
David F. replied:
Iv seen Dr. O'Connor many times and hes not my dr
Gregg F. replied:
I recently went to Dr. O'Connor. Works only on referral. Very nice man did like him
Alexis C. replied:
Gee, I called Dr. O'Connor's office before my PCP appointment today and the woman who answered the phone told me he is not taking new patients and doesn't even do it on a referral. I asked that specifically and also asked if he had a waiting list. She most definitely said no, he hasn't taken a new patient in years. Why on earth would she tell me that if it's not true????? And, not that she asked me, but I have excellent insurance.
David F. replied:
I have been refered to Dr.O'connors office many times. When I need to see him they refer me.
Christine R. replied:
Dr Golen is the best neurologist in town !
Shirley N. replied:
Dr. John MacKenzie is the neurologist, my husband's doctor. His brother does the Botox treatments. Two Dr. McKenzie's.
David F. replied:
I had her she screwed up my EMG and Dr. O'conner said that she didnt do it right. I ended up doing 3. If you have ever had a EMG they are no fun. Dr' O'conner only did half the procedure then the other half a week later. She did it all in one day. Acco rding to O'conner that puts a lot of stress on the nerves. Your having needles shoved in your muscles and nerves from your toes to your head right side and left side. And they needles moved around while under your skin.
Karen G. replied:
Dr. O'Connor accepted me on referral from orthopedic specialist, he is excellent, and very through, all referral handled by referring doctors office
Jan D. replied:
Dr Varghese is my neurologist. She is very good - I like her very much
Jerry W. replied:
Alexis Corelis, my wife had headaches daily for 5 months, they lead to migraines almost once a week. We saw a chiropractor, 3 months with no luck. We saw a sleep aptness doctor, began c-pap nightly, no luck. Then we say Dr. Varghese, she prescribed "To primate" (spelling?) known as "topomax", 2 weeks later no headaches. I called her a miracle worker. She was patient with my wife. Very nice, and very thorough in her 1 st exam. We tried 2 medications with the Dr. the third one worked. We are still very happy with Dr. Varghese!
Pamela L. replied:
Harvey Thomas is the best. Great office. Great assistant s.
