Looking for a vet in the area that would be able to come to my home to help put a pet down. (Dog specifically)
Cheryl S. replied:
My guy LOVED going to Dublin Vet..it was a big social event for him..lol... All the staff loved him..they surrounded him..talked to him..fed him treats. We laid with him and I locked his gaze . He was happy and relaxed and it was beautiful. There was nothing cold or sterile about it. I didnt know how this was all going to play out..thats why I checked every option. I had two kids with me and we we were able to lift him into the car..got him ice cream and then took him to the lake..and then to the vet. He was very happy till the end and I know I did right by him. <3

Fawnia C. replied:
Pennridge Animal Hospital was amazing we were not even a client of theirs and they came to the house and took their time and it was very comforting to know that the whole family got to say goodbye. Would highly recommend them.
Cheryl S. replied:
So sorry you are going through this... I had to make same decision last March. Pennridge vet clinic was willing to come to my house, so was Dublin Vet (whom I was a standing client with). It is very expensive, though. I explored the options and ended up taking my guy into the office. There is a mobile animal "hospice " service ..but I cant remember the name ..you could google it ..they seemed very nice but we were too far for them. Blessings to you and your dog <3
Rebecca S. replied:
You can try Dr Brasher at InHomeVet. Not sure where you are located but I definitely recommend her. Compassionate and caring

Stacy F. replied:
A couple years ago we had to do the same thing. Quakertown Vet were able to do it at the time. Worth calling. Very compassionate and caring.
Corrine J. replied:
I think Pennridge vet will do house calls
Gaye B. replied:
I was at Quakertown Vet a couple years ago and I saw them come out to the car and euthanized rather than bring the dog into the office.
Judy W. replied:
I kept an article that was in the paper that said Dr. Jesse Collins Of Mill Pond Veterinary Clinic was doing house calls, including end of life care starting in April of this year. But it is only the 2 nd and 4 th Monday of the month.

Ginger L. replied:
We recently had a great experience at Pleasant Valley/Lucky Chance - they're connected to the PV vet office so I'm sure meds wouldn't be an issue! Beautiful farm and you can add all kinds of extra nature walks and fun stuff too!
Alicia D. replied:
I've heard really good things about Millpond. Jennifer Stehlik Steich brings her dog there (I've gone with her). They get lots of love and exercise there.
So seriously please can anyone recommend a good vet that takes emergencies that's not QUAKERTOWN vet? Also is it affordable where I won't have to put a second mortgage...

We use Harleysville Vet and we love them....they always took excellent care of our Toby and they give Akiela the same kind of love!
Karen F. replied:
Limerick vet (limerickvet.com) does emergencies. But any emergency visit will probably be expensive anywhere you go. We use the Collegeville Cat Clinic for regular visits, but Metropolitan for emergencies, which is pricey.
Does anyone know of a vet or rabbit breeder that has the vaccine for snuffles in rabbits? Its called pasteurella multocida. I have called multiple places and most vets...

Joyce K. replied:
We used to go to Rockhill and moved to Quakertown Vet for closer. We have had great experiences with our domestic and large animals being cared for there. It's a big practice so you can find a vet there you sort of bond with. They also have specialists come in. They tell you your options and then you can discuss how far you want to go, including $ if you have a limit
Recommendation please. Looking for a vet that is reasonable.
Eileen M. replied:
Karen, We use Mill Pond and love it. They're cheaper than Q-town Vet. Milford is the cheapest, however, it's filthy dirty and I wouldn't bring a plant in there. Lol

Quakertown Vet is awesome! They have 24 hour care, grooming, doggie day care. All the vets are fantastic! I have 5 dogs and a cat and have been to multiple vets... This one is great!
Karen Q. replied:
i was a proponent of Jamison till they cancelled an appointment the day before and didnt provide for the meds he was out of... also they told me to let dog chew cardboard - which he did try to eat....and not to socialize him for a month (he was 2.5 mos) which left very little time to socialize in his 4 month window. I now go to Quakertown Vet...
Jo-Ann W. replied:
I'm sorry but you get what you pay for there by you might have to pay more. Go to Quakertown Vet Clinic and makec an appointment with Dr. Brooks. She's the best!!! You can say no to the tests unless they are for the best for your pet. You willl pay more but it's the best care and you will know what is going on with your pet!!!

I am looking for recommendations of a GREAT Vet in Quakertown area - NOT Quakertown Vet Clinic. I was not happy with our last visit and looking for a new one. Thank you...

Dr. Holly Brooks is a great, attentive educated passionate and compassionate vet. I have many dogs w many health issues, I thank God I found her. I have been thru the ringer w my dog last yr at a certain vet who ignored me and almost killed my dog due to their negligence and lack of concern.

Let me tell you a story about Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital, namely, Bruce Putchat: Many years ago, my grandmother's dog was hit by a car--her side was open and I could see her heart beating right in front of me. My uncle and I loaded her in the back of his truck and I stayed in the back with her to keep her calm. We got there and the place was closed, but we had to wait for the on-call vet to arrive. It was quite some time. Meanwhile, Putchat was in the damn house the entire time! My uncle got into a screaming match with him. I would NEVER take an animal there...EVER. For emergencies, Qtown Vet is open 24/7, but for routine exams, scheduled surgery, we use Kathy Jamison. She's great.
Sarah B. replied:
Mill Pond is amazing. We recently changed from Quakertown Vet and will never go back. Small setting, 2 vets, doggie day care and the most thoughtful and compassionate staff around.
We are looking for a more affordable vet for our fur kid. Any suggestions or recommendations for one in the Upper Bucks area?

Brenda M. replied:
Mill Pond for sure. It has always been very clean when we were there and they have taken great care of our dog. Milford Vet clinic is the smelly and dirty one. Quakertown Vet is ridiculously overpriced. I took my 18 year old cat there when she was sick. I thought she should be put down but they convinced me that to be sure I was making the right decision, they should do diagnostic testing. They called to say the cat died during the testing. Three days later I received a sympathy card about the rainbow bridge and a bill for $580. Never again!!

Mary A. replied:
Line Lexington Vet, 215-822-8918, Dr. Malinauskas, he is the BEST, honest, compassionate. I won't go to anyone else. It's in Colmar which is a bit of a distance but well worth it. He has saved so many of my pets when others said there was no hope.
Alex W. replied:
Have used Mill Pond for many years and continue to use them with our passed Pit Bull, our current cat and two dogs. Always clean, great prices and accurate. They are great and Dr. Collins, along with Dr. Thayer are professional, personable doctors.
Recommendations/Opinions please:
Anyone ever use Quakertown Vet Clinic Boarding facility?
I want 'top of the line' for my dog.
Greatly appreciate any input...thank you...
Kathy C. replied:
Mill Pond VeterinaryClinic... Definitely... Dr. Thayer lives on site if there are any emergencies. They are the ONLY vet in the area we've trusted for Minnie for 16 years.
Patti L. replied:
Thank you Debbie, Jeanie, Elena, Kris, Fran, Devon, David, Kathy, and Dewey...all input is being considered. I am leaning towards Quakertown Vet Clinic Boarding (for now).

I think top of the line is Pet Smart in North Wales. I know it's far, but I liked that place a lot for boarding. I don't know a lot about Quakertown Vet for boarding. I take my dog there for the doctors.
Wendy W. replied:
We love Mill Pond!
Stacy L. replied:
I have used both Millpond and Quakertown vet, it depends on your dog--I have a friend (neighbor too) who watched my guys when we went away. It was nice for them to be at home. I would trust her completely, she also volunteers at lastchanceranch. Her name is Kris Zazulak Carbo.:)
Debbie B. replied:
Someone is always at Pet Smart, even overnight. Someone sleep there and there is a vet on site also.

We use Pennridge Animal Hospital. Fees are reasonable, staff is caring and non-judgmental if you chose not to treat animals needing expensive treatments. Additionally they make house calls and we appreciated that when it was time to put our cat to sleep that it could be done in our home.
Beth S. replied:
Mill pond is great. My mom has a cat named Czar. He got out and was attacked by a fox. Mill Pond took great care of him from the emergency surgery to the after care and they were amazing and very inexpensive. They were very kind and compassionate. Plus, they run a doggie daycare that is inexpensive, as well. When I get a dog, that is where we will go.
I'm looking for a vet for my elerdly cat. I got her about 9 months ago. She has recently been urinating on beds and maybe other areas of the house. Not sure what that's...

Dr. Moise is big on holistic methods as well. hahahaha I loved Dr. Moise so much that I cried when my son turned the age he had to leave the practice and I was willing to alter my birth certificate so I could be "of age".....do you think they would have noticed???? 215-536-1915Dr. Cevallos is a male and Dr. Moise is a female. I loved both. Preferred Dr. Moise. Love the entire staff. They also have a call in hour every morning where you can speak with the doctor.
