Well, Blog readers helped me come up with this tentative list. It's not every great shop but you'll not go wrong working with any of these http://chillyhollownp.blogspot.com/2014/03/the-best-needlework-shops-2014.html

I know I say it all the time, but Sign of the Arrow in St Louis is a philanthropy, with all profits going to charities. You can link to many, many needlepoint designers websites from their website, and spend time perusing hundreds of canvases from the comfort of your own home. Best of all, they will also pull fibers for you, and send it. . http://www.signofthearrow.com/

I love The Needle House in Houston, TX. I used to go in there when business trips brought me to Houston and there are always several employees working on custom stitch guides and threads. I was told they could ship me any canvas I selected as a complete "kit" with stitch guide and threads. http://www.theneedlehouse.com/jm/

Queen Anne's in Santa Clarita, California is terrific. They always have fantastic projects and a phenomenal teacher in Sherry Bray. They can put together the canvas of your choosing and threads to make the canvas, along with a stitch guide worthy of your time and investment. They are super friendly, too and have a number of customers that live a distance away.
