Hello. Thank you for the referrals. Vet on the Go is unfortunately closed for now. Dr Dayton Wall is great and able to provide mobile care. As a holistic vet, I only carry mercury free rabies at this time. I do vaccine titers, to check your animal's ability to mount an immune response to certain diseases, for everything else. I can also do heartworm checks and other basics. I can come to you or have my clinic getting set up. Just a heads up: I am going to be visiting family soon until March 9 th.
Christina A. replied:
:) Titers are so great. I had a 2.5 year old dog show a poor immunity to Distemper! No more combo shots for that pup. http://drjeandoddspethealthresource.tumblr.com/post/33393350071/vaccines-titer-testing-animals

Savannah is a very well equipped, competently staffed hospital. The vets and techs there are wonderful. Their prices are higher than some other places, I suspect due to their overhead (operating in lewes, with their numerous staff) but the place is excellent. My vet is Dr. Brandt at Crossroads in Selbyville but I am not sure how well equipped they are to perform certain surgeries. I highly recommend Savannah if you can afford it.

Savannah Animal Hospital really worked with me when my rescue dog had extensive dental surgery. They allowed me there until right as they were "ready" for my dog in surgery, then called me the minute he was out of surgery so I was there the second he was coherent enough to be released (my rescue has abandonment issues). Plus they do have the 24/hr capabilities should any issues arise post surgery. Wishing you and your fur-baby the best possible results.

Dover Spay Neuter clinic in Dover is awesome for anyone looking for low cost spay/neuter, Vet wise, Dr. Tammi, RBAH and Dr. Mike at Four Paws are great. And Grass Roots is one of the most best rescues I know of. The low cost vaccine clinics held at DJ's every month are the best, then again you shouldn't expect anything less from them. The rescues can't save them all, but we can try to help one at a time. It takes a village.

Haven Lake is a great, smaller clinic. I'm a traveling vet specializing in Holistic/alternative care but I don't have any availability tomorrow unfortunately. I personally utilize the low cost vaccination days at DJ's Pet Depot. The staff is wonderful there & the wait is normally 20 minutes to get in & out. Plus we go shopping while we are there. I supplement those visits with regular wellness exams at Rehoboth Animal Hospital. I just photocopy the vaccination records & give to the office staff at Rehoboth Animal Hospital so they know everything is up to date. Great compromise!

Dr. Mike Junck - the visiting vet will treat colds, respiratory problems. Have had him many times, many animals for 3 yr. rabies and such 933 - 0390

I personally use Rehoboth animal Hospital. Some prices ate very competitive, some are a little higher, depending on what type of service you are looking for. I also have old pets, so they tend to be more expensive! I also own a dog grooming salon here in Rehoboth, been working in this location for almost 15 years. I can tell you in that time, I have heard great things about Haven Lake in Milford, 4 Paws in Seaford, and Georgetown Animal Hospital. Typically, the further you venture from the beach, the cheaper it gets. For what it's worth, I do love the staff at Rehoboth.

Me and Dr. Christina Dayton Wall:) I own Veterinary Alternative Care (www.vetaltcare.com) and Dr Dayton owns All Creatures Veterinary Service and is associated with A Little but also on her own. I believe there is another mobile vet to the south as well. I don't do vaccines at this time but cover holistic care and will do blood draws if needed/indicated along with a few other tests. Christine D. replied:
Savannah is SO SO SO expensive. I feel they - and most local vets - are about ordering unneeded tests, etc. I am not questioning their efficacy - just their capitalism. With that said, I have a doctor that comes to the house. She is experienced, caring and manages basic care, sick visits, etc. She does not perform surgery, tooth cleaning, etc. because she is not affiliated with an hospital. Her name is Lea Tammi... she is on Facebook.
Joanne S. replied:
Dr. Tammi is the vet that runs the low cost clinics at our store.
Christine D. replied:
Dr. Tammi is wonderful. I know her from when I volunteered with my special needs students at the KCSPCA. She's the best.
Jae M. replied:
My Labradoodle had a testicle that didn't drop. The quote from my vet, Rehoboth Animal Hospital, was $700 to neuter him. That did not include a collar or pain meds. I had his surgery done at the SPCA for $200 (because its considered a complicated surgery) and both of those things were included plus an antibiotic to make sure he healed well. That just shows you what a huge mark up it is. I still use Rehoboth for Emergencies but I do take advantage of our local clinics!!

I called them and was told that any treatment would be at my expense and that I would have to take her to the nearest on call vet. They wouldn't even try to identify the owner until Monday. My vet made a special trip in to take care of this poor kitty.

I was in Savannah once for a consult and an elderly man came in with a kitten that someone had dumped on his street and obviously needed its mother. They told him they wouldn't take it unless he was paying for its care. He tried to reason with them because the kitten was in desperate need but they were firm that he had to pay to leave it. All of us in the waiting area were dumbfounded! This man obviously was doing what any of us would do who had a heart. I never went back. I go to 4 Paws in Seaford to Dr Mike. If its an emergency that can't wait i go to Rehoboth Animal Hospital. I like Dr.Mike better tho.

I think you have to have a variety of vets. Vaccine clinics by Jaine Weiss are very affordable. Incidentally, Jaine Weiss is an excellent vet and gives routine care at very affordable prices. But when you have a big animal hospital with a lot of equipment it's going to be pricy.
Michael T. replied:
Rehoboth Animal Hospital is amazing. The staff is very friendly and the vets are very knowledge. I found the prices to be fair I don't trust my pups to just anyone and feel very comfortable when pups are in their care.
