Please recommend a realtor and say why. We should probably add this to the wiki if it gets some answers. We're moving to your fine city ( or nearby ) soon.

[Sherri Purser with Legacy](http://www.legacyrehomes.com/agents/sheri-purser/). Bought our house through her last summer, and had a very good experience. She doesn't power through 15 clients at a time, she works with just a couple and provides more attention; she was very available. She is not afraid to say "I don't know, but I can find out," and then does just that. We had a hiccup mid-way through the transaction with regards to some unexpected insurance costs, but instead of trying to push the sale, she was very understanding and was happy to try to help us find a different house that would suit our needs better (we ended up not switching houses, but did have to reduce our offer a bit). I'm sure there are realtors out there who know more of the technicalities, but I'd rather have someone that can spare a little more attention.

[Chun Truong](https://www.coldwellbanker.com/agents/Chun-Truong-97301) with Coldwell has been specatular for us. Used him to buy our house a few years back and used him to sell our house this past month. What separates him from other realtors is the fact that you can contact him through email, text, or phone and get a response within minutes 7 days a week. I've asked him a question though e-mail at midnight before, expecting him to get back to me in the morning, and i get a responce 3 mins later. It's spectacular.

Kathy Dewoinahttp://www.dewoina.com/ I didn't use her, but I know about 12 people who did and every single person has a great story about the process. I regret not using her and will be sure she is the route I go in the future.

[Amber Austin](https://www.facebook.com/AmberAustinRealtor/), she works with coldwell banker. She only works with a few clients and is super nice. She is not pushy and if you get cold feet she's fine with that too. Another thing was she is super accessible. Day or night, call or text ... facebook, face to face ... doesnt matter she was always available. She helped me move, clean, got me boxes ... fixed some stuff ... she just went way beyond the normal stuff I would expect a realtor to do. If I gave her a message or call I was always certain she would respond immediately or within a few minutes.

I like [Chris Aldrich](http://www.remax.com/realestateagentoffice/salem-or-97302-chrisaldrich-id13754366.html) at Remax, he's super easy to work with and low-key deadpan, but always answers the phone and shows up to sort things out any time of the day or week, and really knows his stuff.
Who is the best Realtor in town? Looking for someone to sell my Grandmothers home in NW Salem area. Older home that needs a lot of work, but nice neighborhood.

I dont have much experience with realtors since wwe only dealt with one when we bought our house. Check out Ned Baker realty, down on Stat Street. We rented a house from them for two years, then found aa house that just happened to be listed by them. We had a good repoir with a different agent at Ned Baker so we used him to help buy our home. The overall experience was fantastic, little-no drama and very little unexpected tidbits

Depending on when you are looking to buy, Stand Up for Salem is currently rehabbing a home at 201 Wesley Street, it should be ready early next year, be priced in the $50 s, and has a $5,000 closing cost/downpayment grant associated with it. For that, call Helene Pierson at 856-935-8800. Brand new condos for sale in the center of town too. http://nhwhcondos.com/

You can always go through a third party realtor and they can deal with the listing agents if you have someone you like. I really like Leanna Langley with ReMax here in Albany, and she can probably recommend someone or even work with you. Just a thought.
