Good luck. It's very hard to find a Psychiatrist even accepting new patients in San Antonio. Once you do finally find one, if you don't like them, good luck finding another one. San Antonio is by far the worst city for finding quality Psychiatric care, sadly. My Psychiatrist is from Alamo Mental Health and she is OK. It took me months to get an appointment, though.

I've had a few therapists in San Antonio (had to change therapists for insurance reasons) and I really liked these past 2 counsellors. I was being treated for depression, anxiety, and self-harm but I'm sure they treat other disorders. I'm not sure if they're accepting new patients, but I recommend Dr. Sara Karcher and Desirae Ysasi. I would also recommend looking at therapists on Psychologytoday.com. It's really helpful you can search for therapists based on zip code, insurance, issues that need to be addressed, price, etc!

I have worked (management) in psychiatry for 20 years and sadly I have never met a psychiatrist that I would refer my family too.

I know that San Antonio Behavioral Health has an outpatient program, I don't know much about it but I volunteered some at the inpatient facility and thought the inpatient staff and therapists were great: http://www.sanantoniobehavioral.com/programs/outpatient-mental-health-treatment
Is there anyone here that has a psychiatrist they could recommend for my bipolar son in San Antonio, Texas?

I don't know any psychiatrists in the San Antonio area, but could recommend some resources. Have you used the Find A Professional resource offered by The Balanced Mind Foundation? Here is the link: http://www.thebalancedmind.org/connect/find

Maybe the Family Service Association of San Antonio might be a place you could ask. They have a Facebook page that lists their phone number also. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Family-Service-Association-of-San-Antonio-Inc/116535046186?fref=pb&hc_location=profile_browser
