Palisades United Methodist preschool is amazing. We went there for three years and i felt like I was dropping my children off with family. Sandy, the director, is amazing! She really cares for the children and staff AND is always improving the school. She has certified the playground as an outdoor classroom with training, professional outdoor classroom coordinators, and extensive research. We moved less than a year ago to New York and my children are ahead of what the curriculum here requires. The teachers are amazing and loving. Their school events are so much fun. We miss them so much and highly recommend them.

San Clemente Presbyterian Church Preschool. There's a few spaces available even tho the year has already started. Schedule a tour. Also, ask about ratios; the state requires a 1:12 ratio at this age group and SCPC Preschool is 1:7.5. A lot of parents don't ask this question.

There are several good preschools in San Clemente, but I'm not sure how many fit your criteria of 2 days per week and not too expensive. One option that comes to mind is San Clemente Playschool, which is a 2-day per week program that I've heard good things about. (My daughter attended their week-long summer camp a couple of times this past summer and loved it.) My daughter has been at Bright Horizons since she’s been 18 months old and about to graduate this year. Every teacher and office staff have been there for SO LONG. Very little turnover. It has been the best experience for my daughter. They also offer dance class on Wednesday’s and a sports class on Friday’s. The Chef Miss Delayna makes the most incredible food for the children as well. Most importantly, my daughter is more than prepared for kindergarten with reading and writing - she also is taught a lot in Spanish as well.
Amanda B. replied:
We love Bright Horizons. -Well established with no turn over in staff. Amazing/loving teachers. -All meals/snacks included by an awesome cook who sneaks in vegetables and healthy ingredients in a way where kids eat it. Served family style so the children learn to serve and share. -They cooked all the families a Thanksgiving dinner just to say thank you! -Daily text update of what the kids learned (including photos). -She's doing all my son's homework with him and he's in kindergarten. She's writing already. She is studying famous artists. - We could not be happier there. Our daughter loves her school!
