Just get infinitum from telmex. The slowest is telephone line at 5 mbsp. I have it in Cabo and works fine for my business and watching streamtv. I run my CaboInternetTV streambox off the landline internet and watch in HD no problems. Also Telmex is going to be the cheapest and easiest to do. I pay 699 peso a month. If you want to watch TV and movies too check out my streamboxes www.facebook.com/CaboInternetTV You can use the box as a windows computer too.

With Izzy, at Rosarito Beach, I got 780-1500 mbs download speeds which is very good. There were times during the day that I noticed download slowdowns but they were infrequent. The problem is that there are more users in all of these areas, like Tijuana, Rosarito, and Ensenada than they set up for. So talk to a group of users and find out how it is working at any given time. I use Exede and it started out at 21.7 mbs when they first put it in, but now we are down to around 17-18. That is what happens when you try to put a lot of users in one system. It is very much like how much water can you put through a 1/2 in pipe. The more end users, the slower it will be.
Does Cox internet really have a monopoly on this area? It's so expensive. Does anyone know of a different internet service for a private residence that is cheaper?...

Elissa...buy you're own modem and router. Motorola Surfboard for the modem and then you can get a net gear or linksys router to put off your wifi...will save you the $10 per month and you'll have better quality equipment.
Does anyone have a recommendation for reliable internet service (no need or desire for a landline) in Baja in the Rosarito Beach to Ensenada corridor? Thanks.

Cox Internet. You can make your cost less by getting a package with less speed. I have the slowest speed they offer and it's fine. Even with my gamer husband. Doesn't seem to affect the quality.
