If you must do it in the US, stick to surgeons that focus on richer neighborhoods - they tend to be the best (e.g. Beverley Hills in LA, or SF/Marin in the Bay Area). Another option IMO is Thailand which has some of the best yet cheapest elective medicine on the planet.

Sorry man. Hope you get better. I don't know a particular MD, but Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF) has pretty elite MDs (mostly from Stanford or UCSF). I believe i know a Dr. David White, plastic surgeon, not sure if he does septoplastys, but might be a start.

Yes, as others have noted, both Palo Alto Medical Foundation and UCSF affiliates here in the city have some of the best doctors and specialists in the country.
