You don't live that far from Orange, Texas, you might look into going to an OBGYN over there, it is only a 25 to 30 minute drive on the interstate. I know there used to be a doctor Dr. LeBlanc over there and he was really good.

I use Dr. Darby and delivered at Cal-Cam. I'm not sure if he takes Medicaid though. He's an awesome doctor and very personal and I love Cal-Cam!

Deliver at Lake Area Medical Center. Memorial Gauthier Campus is great, if you have no complications. LAMC has a 24 hour Dr in the ER if you happen to have an emergency, at Memorial- the Dr can be up to 30 minutes away (meaning your life is in the hands of the nurses, I understand they're great, but I don't know if I'd trust them that much)

Being from the Houston medical center and lived in tx children's in Houston and Dallas, I think cal cam has been a good hospital. You hear rumors and stories about every hospital. In the 10 yrs I've been here I've heard only the improvement of this hospital. I just had a gbaby last weekend at lake charles memorial hospital for women... very pleased! I have another being delivered at cal cam in 2 months with Dr. Allison... we like her. And another gbaby in about 2 months at lake charles medical center with Dr prestia ... great dr and hospital as well. The advise I give is use your instincts when meeting your new Dr. Good luck

Definitely recommend Dr. Lincoln at Christus Lake Area OBGYN. She was my gynecologist before I got pregnant, now she’s my pregnancy doctor and my delivery doctor. I really lucked out. I love her and her nurse, Chelsea.

Dr William Groves!!! He just performed a hysterectomy on me last Monday. He is fantastic!! I couldn't ask for a better Dr.

Any of them are great! They are all in practice together. I use Groves and he's amazing. My friends have used Scroggs and Darbonne with no complaints.

I personally never used him but I've heard Dr. Darbonne was awesome!

I don't know why no one else has said this yet, but it's really going to depend on who your insurance covers. I have blue cross and my sister has united Healthcare, a lot of docs are covered under both but there are differences. While it's a good idea to get recommendations, you're going to want to see who is available under your insurance. After that, you may want to try to meet with several of them. I had to change OBs with my second kid because the doctor who delivered my first passed away. I wasn't comfortable with any of the other docs at that practice. I ended up seeing Dr. Scroggs for my other 2. He's very nice and seemed to really listen to me.

Dr. Matthew Scroggs. After using Forsyth for my first baby switching to Scroggs was the best choice I ever made. Forsyth was great, but Scroggs is more thorough and helpful especially in stressful situations.
