Does anyone have a recommendation for a great dog walker in the area (near the park)? My go to person can't do it anymore. Looking for someone reliable and trustworthy!...

Katherine, I have an outstanding dog walker who I can't recommend highly enough. His name is Mike Prothero, his email is mprothero02@gmail.com. $15 per walk, which is less than anything else I've found, and he also does pet sitting if you go out of town.
Samantha B. replied:
Judi Clayton, who can be reached at pinkispamperedpooches@gmail.com, is fabulous. My dog adores her, I trust her, and she is reasonably priced and flexible.
Patrick F. replied:
Patrick's Pet Care is the only "name your own price" pet sitting, dog walking, and pet taxi service in the District. 12 five star reviews on Yelp and counting. Owned and managed by yours truly, with as many references as you can shake a stick at, including 10 within two blocks of the park. Check it out: Facebook.com/patrickspetcare or www.patrickspetcare.com
Eva G. replied:
I use the Brighter Day Collective http://www.brighterdayscollective.com/ because they are flexible, reliable and don't mind that I only use them occasionally rather than a weekly/daily booking other services require

Can anyone suggest an affordable and good vet and dog walker? (Shhh, high probability there will be an addition to our family but my son doesn't know:))
Leslie L. replied:
Tridelphia Veterinary is wonderful. Kathryn Rego Orndorff or Jeanine Johnson for pet services. They are the biggest animal lovers in Howard County.
Marty C. replied:
Dr. Hall at Fulton Animal Hospital.
Linda C. replied:
I use both Fairland Animal Hospital, and a mobile vet that comes right to the house! Good dog walker is Nikkie Ice Pet Sitting.

Jennifer V. replied:
Fulton Animal hospital and Serene Ward is awesome, treats your pet like her own.

VCA is probably high priced but provides good vet services. Serene Ward is our dog walker who is extremely good with the dogs. I also want to recommend the local Day One Dog Training which offers great puppy classes.

Kelly S. replied:
My puppy started out at VCA and I keep telling myself I'm going to switch to somewhere a little more affordable given that I'm a college student, but I can't bring myself to do it. She prefers the female vet techs after a bad experience with a male one time. She got scared when he tried to pin her down to look at her teeth (at only 5 months old) and the male made a note saying she needed to be muzzled because she would bite (not true!) After that we started seeing Dr. Kelso and my puppy rolls right over for belly rubs for her when we go. She has given some awesome training advice as well (she has 9 dogs herself so I guess she has had some training practice)
Kathy M. replied:
Fulton animal hospital, they are wonderful and dont rip you off. Serene Ward is a great dogwalker and works at the animal hospital.

Barb from Jumpin' Rumps LLC has been walking our dog for more than 3 years. At least 4 of our neighbors and friends have hired her after seeing how reliable, honest and caring she is with our dog.

Devin is in the neighbor hood and is from the Brighter Day Collective walks Luna http://www.brighterdayscollective.com/. He is $16 and flexible and does not require a daily walk arrangement.

Alejandra Hino walked my dog Amos and my fosters when I lived in Columbia Heights (recently moved to Cap. Hill). Her email is Hino-4@hotmail.com. Reasonable rates, very kind and good with the dogs. You can let her know I recommended her to you. She's wonderful.
Hello soon to be greyhound friends. We are moving to SD with our 2 greys, Eddy (14.5 y/o) and Merckx (6 y/o) in March. We are living in the South Park area temporarily...
Carol P. replied:
Candy Lewis, Harmony Vet is very knowledgable on grays. She is on Park Ave in The Hillcrest area. Not far from South Park.
Stephanie T. replied:
Dr Petersen at Friars Road Pet Hospital has tons of experience with greys and is a supporter of greyhound rescue groups.
Christine M. replied:
Welcome - I am a pet sitter and dog walker, too, but we aren't in South Park.. regardless, we (me & Ty & Guthrie from Greyhound Adoption Center) look forward to meeting you at fun events! We use Bodhi Animal Hospital in University Heights (next to North Park), they have a full service on-site lab and hospital and are knowledgeable about greyhounds and their special needs. Here's some info about our Pet Care Services At Pridey Girl Petcare, we offer reliable, affordable, practical care for your pets. We provide daily dog walks starting at only $12, drop in pet sitting and overnight care for your cats, dogs and other pets. Contact us today for a complimentary meet & greet. www.prideygirlpetcare.com
Eve G. replied:
I've used both Dr Lewis & Rancho Mesa. Dr L treats the GAC pups & I believe she started GAC... Rancho treats the Operation Greyhound pups. They have mixed reviews on Yelp. Dr L charges more but that subsidizes her care for the GAC Greyts so I'm down with that. We live in Bankers Hill just on the other side of Balboa. There is a weekly Saturday greyt walk in Balboa & a monthly Greyhound Walking Club walk that mixes it up all around the county - nice way to explore. Welcome to Paradise!!
Sharon S. replied:
I had always gone to Dr Lewis but then had a problem getting an appointment so had to go somewhere else. El Cajon Valley is walk in so I knew I could be seen that day.
Alexandra F. replied:
Dr. Barbara Darnell at Shelter Island Vet Hospital. She's taken care of all 4 of our greys, ages 2 to 13. Midway Drive in Point Loma.
Kelly M. replied:
Alexandra Ford, I will private message you. I highly do NOT recommend Dr Barbara Darnell. We had a horribly traumatic experience under her care with our grey and her reaction was immoral and unethical to say the least. Sorry, I really don't like to public bash on Facebook, but she is the one person in this whole world I will forever not support.
Kati M. replied:
Another vote for Dr. Lewis.
Susi K. replied:
I live in South Park too. I take my greyhound to B St. Pet Hospital, I like Dr. Olson there, she is great. come walk with us every Saturday morning at 10 am
Youko W. replied:
Dr Lewis mentioned above is the best! She performs operations on the injured greys that come to the local rescue from race tracks. She herself is a grey owner.
Marianne R. replied:
We have a Greyhound Walking Club in San Diego that meets once a month in various venues around San Diego. Check us out on our website sdgreyhounds.com. Our next walk is this coming Sunday at 9:00 am at the Blue Sky Preserve in Poway. One of our most popular walks.
Tina G. replied:
Dr. Lewis.
Sharon S. replied:
Dr Lewis at Harmony is the vet for the Greyhound Adoption Center and sees all the greyhounds brought it. El Cajon Valley Vet also helps with some of the greyhounds from GAC. El Cajon Valley has 5 vets on staff and is a walk in situation. I go there because I can always get in when I need to. I feel the vets there are good and show concern for your pets.
Sharon B. replied:
Candy Lewis...hands down.
June M. replied:
Vote for Dr Candy
Rachel C. replied:
Hi Paul, I would love to be your regular dog walker. Please check out my page. I own a 7 year old 3 legged greyhound. Welcome to the neighborhood. Our regular vet is Dr. Irene Cote from Cote Animal Hospital in the UTC area. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rachels-Friends-Pet-Care/998974776783328
Laura L. replied:
Our Greyts see Dr. Rose and team Cabrillo Pet Hospital / Pet Care Center. They also have on-site boarding.
Does anyone know a dog walker in Upper Marlboro that is available asap?
Heather D. replied:
I have a friend whose sister has a pet sitting business out of Bowie called Quality Time. Her name is Marie Eden and her number is (301) 379-9876. Hope this helps!
