I use [Three Dog Night on Kilkenny](http://threedognight.org/) and I really couldn't be any happier with them. Dede, the owner, truly loves dogs and gives them the time of their lives when they are boarded with her. She has 3 fenced acres that dogs can play in, along with a swimming pool they can swim in during the summer. At night the dogs just sleep in her house so they are never caged. Boarding is only $45/night with discounts for multiple dogs and stays that are a week or longer. She is way out in Marshall, VA but she will meet you at the Rosslyn Marriott for an extra $10. I have a bit of a "problem dog" and Dede is probably the only person other than my wife that I can leave him with and feel OK about. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Also, I know you aren't flying with him, but for anyone else who sees this: **unless your dog is small enough for you to carry them on the plane with you, never, ever, bring your dog on a flight.** There are so many stories of dogs freezing to death or dying from overheating after being left for hours with no water. Generally 20-40 dogs are killed by airlines every year with little or no recourse available to owners.

I use rover.com and love it! You can leave your dog with someone or have someone stay at your place. Prices range, but I find it's usually more reasonable than a kennel. Sitters are reviewed by past clients, and you can also usually see pictures from other dogs' stays, arrange meet-and-greets, etc.

I was actually going to post something similar to this about my cat over Thanksgiving.

Just curious, how big is your dog that you were told it's too big to fly?

Post here. Many people arn't going anywhere and you could get someone to check in on them. What about your pet's vet?

I use Fetch and have had nothing but positive experiences with them. Even had a time where there was less than than a 6 hour notice and the owner of the business came and let my dog out. They do overnights as well.

I've used the service FurPals in the past. I was most paranoid about giving someone our house key, but I can verify the one time we used them that nothing was stolen and the cat had been taken care of. I believe they charge $20 per visit, but that's for my cat so dog walking may be a bit more.

Yes. This woman is the fucking dog whisper: Mimi McKinney 80 S Street NW 20001 202.256.2991expectations@gmail.com I never seen anyone handle dogs like her before. She will come to the park with ten dogs and handle them without a problem. No treats, toys, yelling or anything. Then they all just leave in a orderly fashion. It's nuts. The rest of us just stand there in amazement. I haven't used her services yet, but my dog loves her. Best of all she remembers my dog's name. Just tell her Nyla's owner sent you. I think watching her in action you will be impressed.

I have used "time for a walk" whenever I travel for the last two years. My two pugs love the team. They used to get upset at being boarded (pug tails would literally uncurl for a day after getting back). But they don't do that now. I have them come 3 times a day to walk em for 30 min each and feed em. They leave notes each time about the dogs moods and potty action. Best part is the pugs can stay at the house bc they come to my house to walk em. They service edit- nova and dc. I don't have the number on hand but just google the name and they show up. Also costs less than boarding did like 12-13/walk for two dogs

These guys aren't cheap, but they are AWESOME. I never feel bad leaving my dog here: http://www.oldetownepetresort.com/indexf.html Though they have Olde Towne in their name, they are actually in Springfield VA. (not too far from national airport). There is another one near Dulles.
Can anyone recommend a good dog boarding facility that offers a clean warm place for two dogs? I'm looking for a reasonably priced place near the DC area.
