I'm debating about a Doula - many of my momma friends say they are key to a completely natural birth, however I originally thought that's why one picks a midwife vs...

A doula isn't a make or break if it's out of your budget, but if you can swing one (and there are many price ranges out there) think of it as a gift to yourself that you so deserve during your natural labor. There are many reasons why a doula is ideal, but the most memorable for me was just having an extra set of (loving!) hands to help so that I could be more connected to my husband during the experience. My doula prepared the environment and knew from experience many ways to ease the pain and help me along. She did things my husband and I wouldn't have thought of, especially under pressure, and that's the biggest advantage a doula brings to the table: They've been to so many births and learned so much from each. Anyway Here's more info about some benefits of having a doula. This page happens to be from my doula Mari Smith's web site, and she'd be a great choice if I may say so! http://www.celebratedbirth.com/doulacare.html Celebrated BIRTH- doula care. celebratedbirth.com

I could not image laboring through two births without a doula. If you want someone highly experience, Lori Cooper is great. My friend Laurie Conner has been a doula for a year and is fantastic as well as affordable. It's really great to have an extract set of hands, and help/advice on pregnancy, birthing and breastfeeding. The postpartum visits are great too!
Looking for feedback. Please free to pm if you'd rather. I was informed today that the provider I was seeing, a certified nurse midwife, has suddenly left the practice....

I'm seeing Tina Fought and she has been great so far. She understands my desire for natural childbirth only downside is she has to deliver at the hospital.
