Psychology Today has a searchable database where you can find a therapist. It's been a really helpful resource to me in the past. You can narrow down by speciality and insurance. Hope things improve! https://therapists.psychologytoday.com/rms/

I can recommend Janice Evans; my insurance (also BCBS) covered all the visits completely. http://www.jlevanslpc.com I can also recommend the What's Up? app (iOS) to help you with some day-to-day CBT techniques. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/whats-up/id968251160?mt=8

Try: http://www.cognitivetherapymd.com/3201.htmlhttp://www.cognitivetherapyctr.com/home.html Just found those online, have no experience with them. I personally go to the [Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington](http://behaviortherapycenter.com), but only about 80% of the cost is covered by my insurance. Congratulations for taking steps! Best wishes.

https://www.facebook.com/290103137578 American Psychological Association thank you for your post. I am wondering, what metrics were used in determining the concentrations of psychologist's per county? Was it solely the number of psychologist's licensed in each county, or does the concentration represent the percent of psychologist available to the the number of people in that county? Furthermore, I think it would be interesting to also compare the rates found above to the average demand for mental health treatment in each county; potentially providing more insight on which regions require the most attention.

Psychologists also have a tendency to be democrats (Jonathan Haidt found a 14-1 democrat to republican ratio at the APA). The heaviest concentrations of psychologists are in counties that are heavily democrat, and the lowest concentrations are in firmly republican counties. Boulder CO is over run with this profession, but finding a good one is still very challenging. Also finding one that is affordable is difficult.

The shortage very nicely overlays the distribution of counties that were in economic decline in 2014. I am guessing that those counties have shortages of many professionals. (see http://americancityandcounty.com/economic-development/economic-recovery-slow-and-uneven-county-level)
