I go to Dr. Sedgewick and have always been pleased. John has been there as well for issues he encountered last year during his treatment. http://www.sedgewickeye.com/

Chris, I go to a good Opthamologist near by house, but when I recently scratched my cornea, he sent me to Dr. John Josephson at Dulles Eye Associates. He is a cornea specialist, does lasik, and I also believe will do eye exams. He was wonderful, called me personally after a procedure I had done and called him with questions. I would highly recommend him. He is near Landsdowne. http://dceyedr.com
Mark A. replied:
Dr. Elbash with Loudoun Opthalmology Associates in Lansdowne has been great with Jack.
Recommendations on Electronic Health Records Software Hi all
I am looking into software for electronic health records. Specifically this will be for an optometrists...
toocando replied:
second for athena, perhaps Practice Fusion also.
blzed replied:
The best all-in solution that I have seen is [Athena](http://www.athenahealth.com/). They could be costly depending on practice size, but all of the services that they offer outweigh the costs in my opinion. I got to go to their headquarters and see their setup as well as talk with several different staffers. They're very interested in making healthcare better as an industry, and they seem to be pushing in the right direction. Stay away from E-Clinicalworks, I only saw a demo of the product and it is simply buttons on top of buttons on top of more buttons with a few menus thrown in for good measure. Complete UI nightmare.
RocketTech99 replied:
I manage an office which uses OfficeMate. I'm more familiar with the on-premise solution, although they do have a cloud version. The Drs. really like it; I strongly dislike it. It seems to have been written for Windows 95, requires admin permissions for almost everything although there are ways to get around it. Any troubleshooting will require you to disable all firewalls, UAC, and of course, run the user as an admin.

While nearly all of our clients are in the retail/manufacturing sectors, we have an associate who deals primarily with medical practices. Nearly all of his clients are using [Oscar-EMR](http://oscar-emr.com/), it's an open source EMR app developed and maintained by McMaster University. Note that I'm in Canada, so while it may be approved for use here, it may not be approved elsewhere.

I have been using Eclinical works for years. DO NOT USE GLO at all costs. Gmed is pretty good too if they are a gastro office.
Jimjawn replied:
My customers love EMA. https://www.modmed.com/ophthalmology/ it super easy to setup and support.
RickGrimesofIT replied:
I would recommend you complete an assessment tool to determine what fits your needs. http://www.leadingage.org/ehr/search.aspx
sweetmelissa22 replied:
I would look at something specialty specific. I would also stay away from the cloud, because it is going to be slow (I worked for a cloud based system for 5 years). The top complaint was always speed! Before you buy anything, I would get a list of current users and visit their practice/clinic to see the system in use!
masgreko replied:
Have a few clients who are Practice Fusion and eClinicalWorks. Both work fine for the most part. I saw a MediTouch demo and it was pretty nice. Not sure about the billing side of it but the EHR itself was impressive.
