Hi Barbara, and welcome to our roller coaster. Your ride has already embarked, and there is no exit with only small, calm breaks at random locations throughout the journey. ;-) There is testing for kids beginning at age 2, but... it's not recommended. The first question is, what would it change? You would still parent and love her the same way. You would still follow her lead. It wouldn't make any difference. What you sound like you do need is community. There are also other great closed groups on Facebook, including Raising Poppies and American Mensa - BrightKids. For lots (and lots and lots!) of information, visit Hoagies' Gifted Education Page. Your best approach is to use the Search box in the upper right of each page. www.HoagiesGifted.org If you're just going to wander around, I always warn folks to feed the kids, pick up the spouse, and walk the dog before sitting down to dive in... it's more than 1150 pages on everything you ever wanted to know about giftedness across the lifespan, especially gifted kids! Whatever you do, find others, not only for your child, but for yourself. You are not alone!
