That should be the way it is with any contractor period. My husband and I own Steve's Handyman Service and we normally require a small deposit to buy supplies but never ask for full payment until job is complete and customer is happy. We are also licensed, insured and bonded. We pride ourselves on keeping our customer happy and that would mean NEVER taking money until the job makes them smile
