We had a hands-on wood windows workshops at Old Salem during preservation month (May) last year, and may do it again this year. Preservation Forsyth may be doing one soon too. Be aware of 'replacement' windows since they have very limited livespan and will need to be replaced repeated, sometimes as often as 5-10 years. Not sure exactly what you need to have done, and I can't vouch personally as I've not used either - but Richard Charpie here in W/S and Double Hung in GSO are two names I've heard regarding older/wood window restoration in particular? Double Hung is on the web is at www.double-hung.com, don't have a definite/current # for Charpie but he might be online also?
