Psychologist/therapist recommendations Hi everyone. This is probably a weird request but I was wondering if anyone knew of some good therapists in Worcester to go to? I...

Don't go to island counseling

Good luck. I tried calling two places in Worcester last week, who told me "we're not taking new patients" (Island Counseling was one of them). The third place said they don't take my insurance. Tried 3 other places in nearby towns, who also aren't taking new patients. The mental health system is extremely broken. They wonder why people are killing themselves, killing others, or turning to drugs, well it's because they're literally turning down everyone who are trying to get help.

Honestly it’s hit or miss. I would suggest going for someone younger and the gender that you’d feel more comfortable talking to. If you don’t like who you’re seeing, you can always find another one. Right now I’m seeing a younger girl that graduated recently and the feedback she gives me is way more helpful than the one I saw previously who had years of experience.

I just want to point out that Josh Tannenbaum is awesome. I saw him earlier this year for about 5 months. I currently see Dr Racicot, right off of rt 9 in Shrewsbury (just outside of Worcester). She's pretty amazing and has helped me a ton in the two years I've been seeing her.

I also am looking into therapy, but I'm too scared to go. However, I'm keeping my eye on Lisa Archambault and Jennifer D Lish on Psychology Today.

Are you will to travel outside of Worcester? I just started seeing a therapist in Westborough, right off of route 9. I can DM you their info.
Hey All, could anyone a recommend a good private-pay therapist in the Worcester area for a very nice, mid-30's woman with mild-moderate depression?

Ruthann Rizzi in Northborough, Carl Fulwiler in Northborough, Christy Clark in Northborough, Betsy Austin in Worcester, I can come up with many more with more specifics about the request so let me know
Rebecca L. replied:
John Aney and Eric Kosinski in Fitchburg if she is way up north. They are both psychiatrists but know who is good up there and will help (though she can mention my name if she likes). Kathy Becher is also in Northboro but pretty full. Of the names in my previous post, Christy Clark probably the most gentle. Kate McGonagle in Worcester. We also frequently have space in our resident clinic (which is in the north part of Worcester) if you think she would be a good training case.
