Just moved here and I'm looking for a pediatrician for my children ??
Nicole B. replied:
Dr McCown at Southlake pediatrics is the absolute best!
Krista A. replied:
Diane Matheson Alabaster pediatrics
Bailey G. replied:
Vestavia pediatrics! They have after hours and weekend sick visits!
Renee C. replied:
Southlake Pediatrics Dr Byars for over ten Years now. 982-2500
Karl B. replied:
https://www.facebook.com/greenvalepediatrics/ Dr. Joe Jolly is awesome and has cared for our two boys excellently for almost six years
Lacy F. replied:
Anyone but Goldblatt at Southlake. We use Dr. Labovitz. The wait time for her isn't ideal, but she is very thorough.
Marlena D. replied:
Dr Babi just off Morgan Road behind the daycare. By far the best! We’ve been to Greenvale, Growing up Pediatrics, and Over the Mountain and received very unpleasant service. I’m very pleased we chose Dr. Babi and not to mention my kids love him as well.
Twyla C. replied:
Dr.Wright at Greenvale
Deanna B. replied:
I second Southlake Peds...
Amanda H. replied:
South lake Pediatrics Dr. Anne Byars
Andrea A. replied:
Greenvale Hoover...I will only see Dr. Carter he is amazing!!
Danielle W. replied:

Nora J. replied:
Dr McCown at Southlake is the best!!
Angela B. replied:
Oakhill Josh Arrington is my nephew
Kimberly K. replied:
Dr Allan pediatrics west
Stephanie S. replied:
We're new to the area and originally were going to go to Greenvale. The front office treated us horribly so I went to South lake PEDs instead. No run around like with Greenvale. Southlake staff and Dr. Labovich were great. Worth the short drive.
I need reccommendations for a pediatrician that is not at Tuscaloosa Peds.
Christy T. replied:
Greenvale Alabaster Dr. Stuart and Mia is perfect btw
Holly L. replied:
We use Dr. Pettit and love him
Kristie W. replied:
Dr. Pettit
Brittany H. replied:
I've only had Aubrey two weeks, an I already love Greenvale Peds in Alabaster!! I've already taken her in once and called to ask questions two or three other times, very nice people!
Wendy R. replied:
Alabaster pediatrics is where Linlee and Harper go. They are not as busy as Greenvale. You can get in easy and not a long wait in waiting room. We like Diane Matheson there. She saw Lacey and Lindsey too when they were kids!
Jennifer D. replied:
Dr. Pettit
Becky C. replied:
John Petelos@Greenvale. He's great.
Tom N. replied:
Phillip Philips
Mark G. replied:
Dr McCollum Greenville peds in Hoover ( the exit b4 the Galleria)
Leslie H. replied:
Greenvale Pediatrics in Hoover Dr. Dudgeon. We LOVE him
Sommer D. replied:
Dang! That's crazy Megan bc at 4 yrs old, she's a KID. Some doctors are just wacky!!!! We use Selma Ped's Dr.Assaad, he's very good with our boys. My sister has been with him almost 15 years now & he's excellent with her.
Kaylan D. replied:
Pediatrics West- Dr Abby Allen
Becky C. replied:
That is just plain stupid and Mia and Jake don't need a stupid moron treating them. Dr. Petelos was my nephews pediatrician and I know a couple other families who see him. Never heard any complaints.
J M. replied:
Phil Philips
Audrey B. replied:
Let me guess Dr Farmer
Lisa B. replied:
Robert Bashinski ~ Greenvale Pediatrics. Alabaster ~ 205.663.9550
Andrea S. replied:
Phil Philips is the best!! We moved from Bama Peds. Best decision I've made this far.
Mandy C. replied:
Bama pediatrics. Dr Bennuri has always be good to us and his wife is the allergy dr there too. Very convenient.
Ashley C. replied:
I changed from Tuscaloosa Pediatrics to Alabaster Pediatrics. All of the doctors there are super. I worked there and saw how much they cared for their patients first hand. I first used Dr. Russell but she left and now we see Dr. Schroeder. But I like all of them. Tuscaloosa doctors were not personable and I had to remind them that Berkley was a boy every time we went. Not to mention we never actually saw the doctor we had chosen.
Leslie S. replied:
When we lived closer (in Tuscaloosa), I used Pettit at West AL Pediatrics on Watermelon Rd in Northport. We never had a single complaint. We even kept him after we moved here because we loved him SOO much! Then as Owen got big enough to start climbing on thing and Adam and I agreed we might need to pick someone closer since the likelihood of breaking a bone or a traumatic injury had increased immensely compared to the baby crawling around we had when we moved here. HAHA! We took Dr Pettit's recommendation of someone he was in med school with that's near where we are now. He was spot on. We LOVE us some Dr Tyler in Alexander City just as much (if not a little more). The shortest person in the house is quite impressed that he gets a Popsicle if he has to have any shots...or if he asks in general and flirts with the nurses. Pitiful ;D
In need of an AMAZING Pediatrician in Alabaster/Columbiana area!!!! Ty man is sick and I don't want to go back to his old dr in Hoover....
Christine C. replied:
Calleigh sees Dr Julia Stewart at Greenvale Pediatrics in Pelham, it's the 2200 building right next to Shelby Hospital. She is great. 1 205-663-9550 here is the number to the office. There are several others there as well.
Stacy B. replied:
Dr. Stewart, Dr Sester, & there's one other, I can't remember her name.
Leah T. replied:
Greenvale is great! We use Dr. Jolly & he is wonderful! Dr. Sester is a female pediatrician there.
Stacy B. replied:
Oh yeah its Dr. Cosgrove! All the doctors there are great!
Laura S. replied:
Dr. Paula Johnson at Alabaster Pediatrics.
Stacy B. replied:
Dr. Jolly is AMAZING! But he's not accepting any new patients. =\ My kids see him & he's the best pediatrician EVER!:)
Krystal M. replied:
Dr Goldblatt at Southlake..Ty is terrified of him
Stacy B. replied:
Dr. Stewart & Dr. Cosgrove are my favorite female doctors at Greenvale in Alabaster. Dr. Cosgrove has been there a lot longer than Dr. Stewart so she probably has a bigger case load. But they're both very good doctors from what I've seen. My cousin used to work there so I know a lot about the doctors up there.:)
Cissy M. replied:
Holly Johnson.... Ala. pediatrics.....Amazing....So Pleased....
Chantele C. replied:
Dr. Jolly for sure he was amazing with my baby sister and my parents knew him before that.
Kim D. replied:
Dr. Jolly is amazing!

Morgan M. replied:
Not even gonna lie..I saw Dr Goldblatt until I was 24 lol but I loved him
Megan P. replied:
Also Dr. Buie at Greenvale is awesome!!!
Stacy B. replied:
We use Dr. Jolly at Greenvale in Alabaster. We love him. But he's not accepting any new patients.
Megan P. replied:
Dr. Sester and is one.
Megan P. replied:

Patricia T. replied:
Dr Jolly at Greenvale Pediatrics- alabaster location. Our kids love him!
Jennifer S. replied:
I love Dr Anne Byars at Southlake Peds. She's a little older, so she has seen pretty much everything. She's easy to talk to and doesn't talk down to you.
Amanda K. replied:
Greenvale, alabaster branch. We love Dr. Jolly!! Also, they are part of children's health systems!
Does anyone know if Southlake pediatrics will accept ALL KIDS insurance, if they're accepting new patients and what pediatrician would you recommend for an 18 month old...
Lacy F. replied:
Dr. Goldblatt is a nice guy. I just feel that he dismisses what I say. When I try to explain things to him, he doesn't ever look up from his paper and respond. He also interrupts me with a completely different topic.
Jordan C. replied:
Dr Andrew McCown will. I'm 20 now and have been seeing him since I was born. Best dr every
Jessica S. replied:
I have 4 children under 5 and Dr Goldblatt has been fabulous. Very sweet and loving to all of the children. We never have a copay with well visits. We have blue cross though.
Lanie B. replied:
Have used Dr. Goldblatt for both of my children. He has always been great with them and with me. Very big on exercise and good nutrition. Saw Dr. Byars once when Goldblatt wasn't available and she was great also.
Rhonda A. replied:
I think Dr. McCown is only accepting newborns. ...
Jamie H. replied:
Ann byars is awesome! She is at south lake@205 982 2500
Sabrina S. replied:
I left greenvale after 3 years and went to Southlake (Dr. Byars) She is awesome! We've seen all 3 and I've liked them all. I was told that they only accept newborns but they took my 5 month old and 3 year old in June. I think you just have to call and explain that you are having a hard time with greenvale and they might take you. I'm not sure about the insurance though.
Becca P. replied:
Crystal - I know people don't like him but he has always been amazing for me. My brothers just see him for the usual stuff and he is usually in and out but if there really is something going on he keeps looking for answers. I have a urologist, cardiologist, gastroenterologist, rheumatologist, asthma specialist, orthopedic and ENT. Dr. Goldblatt always knows what is going on and stays on top of my care. I don't think there are many doctors like him left. I hope your daughter is doing well now
Becca P. replied:
Dr. Goldblatt is my doctor. He found my heart murmur after two other pediatricians missed it and he called the top cardiologist in the southeast himself to schedule my appointment and ensure I got in as quickly as possible. He sent me for test after test after test and to multiple specialist until we found the answer for my pain. He doesn't have the most wonderful bedside manner but he really does care about his patients (has even called us at night to check on me or first thing in the morning when I have been seen in the er). I will be devestated when I turn 18 and switch to a primary care doctor.
Renee C. replied:
Love love love Dr Byars
Michele R. replied:
Dr. Andy McCown is AWESOME!!!
Rhonda A. replied:
All of my children started out seeing Dr. McCown. Incredible doctor! My son stayed with him but my daughters moved to Dr. Byars after they became uncomfortable with a man doctor. ...Dr. Byars is amazing! You can't go wrong with either of them!
Regina G. replied:
Dr. Andrew Mccown at Southlake is amazing! We have used him for 14 years.
Lacy F. replied:
Not Dr. Goldblatt!! He doesn't listen. Dr. Ann Byers is amazing. Love her.
Ashley A. replied:
Dr. Byars for sure. She's AWESOME! That's who Lilly goes to as well. I'm surprised carmen didn't recommend her. She accepts allkids and its no copay for well checkups.
Danielle P. replied:
Same here. My patience finally ran completely out with Greenvale this week. Have you heard any good things about Alabaster Pediatrics just in case?
My 1 1/2 yr old son is needing an eye exam! The one the pediatrician suggested can't see him for 3 weeks!

I know you want to stick with Alabaster but we go to Dr. Alice Hardy at Southtrace Pediatrics in Hoover. Besides loving her I love that they have sick hour every morning from 8-9 a. You don't have to have an appointment just show up. The nights that I have been up with a sick child I don't have to wait for them to open and then hope that they can see us that day. I just show up at 8 a. I am usually seen and back home by the time I could even get an appointment at Alabaster.
Kristen D. replied:
That's what I Love about Dr. Sesser she's not going to rush through things and she's very detailed. My daughter is 11 and had lots of questions last visit. She gladly took the time to explain everything. We were there at least 35 min in the room with her.
