Have you seen a neurokinetic therapist? Chris Scott at Plaza Fitness is a wizard. He has helped me with my feet, also my back, and other issues. I cannot recommend him enough. Unless it's a bone spur or bone problem, I bet you Chris can give you some better answers. (518) 783-9000

Max saw Dr. Hedderman at the Bone and Joint Center for his arm. We had a god experience there, which is saying a lot when you have to go there with a child under 2!
Kammy G. replied:
Dr. Abraham works on my husband's knees from time to time from the bone and joint center, but he also has an office in the new building right across from CVS in Delmar. He's great Judy.
Can anyone recommend a good orthopedist in the Capital area who either specializes or has helped with an achilles injury? I was not happy with the doctor I saw (who told...
Ryan N. replied:
Not an Ortho, but I suggest Dr. Bath at Proactive Chiropractic in Clifton Park. As long as it is not a tear/stress fracture and just inflammation, he will get you back to running great again!!!!
Dallas D. replied:
Dr Shatynski is an Ortho. A lot of the runners in the area go to see him. He is an ironman and gets us. He will get you to the right person if he can't help you. He recommended me to see Dr Bath that Ryan suggested. Probably a lot quicker to get into see Bath vs Shatynski.
Larry S. replied:
I have a friend who also sees Dr Shatynski for other foot related issues and he is thrilled with him.. I hope you find someone who can help ya!!!:(
Amy M. replied:
I've seen Dr. Bath for two different injuries, both times I have felt better very quickly. Usually able to get same day appointment.
Does anyone know of a good orthopedic doctor in the Albany area?
Kelly M. replied:
I'll second Todd Shatynski - he's a triathlete, so he understands athletes, and really tries to get to the root of what is causing the problem - he doesn't jump right to surgery.
Marna M. replied:
Bone and Joint absolutely. Dr. Alfred & Dr. Kerr are sports medicine. Also Shaytanski is wonderful if you can get in.
Jon R. replied:
Todd Shatynski at Capital Region Ortho.
Matt D. replied:
Dr. Fein, out of Ortho-NY Malta. He was a trainer for the NHL New York Islanders and gets that athletes want little or no down time.
Toe walking issues - I had a pretty disappointing appointment with an orthopedist from the Shriners Outreach center here in Albany. I would like a second opinion. Can...
Holly M. replied:
Dr Slavin at Burdett Ortho. in Troy did the heel cord surgery on my son 3 years ago. Unfortunately, it only kept him off his toes for a few months. He is back up on his toes, but the advantage to the surgery is that he has regained flexibility that he lost. Now toe walking is a behavior, and he has the ability to walk regularly if he chooses, or we remind him to.
Cindy B. replied:
Wendy, did you touch base with Mike Smith? I know he did a lot of stuff with his son regarding an orthopedist...that might help you.

I was having some knee pain that turned out to be good ole' fashioned runner's knee. I went to Dr. Shatinsky at CapitalRegion Orthopedics, and he was awesome. I highly recommend him.
